I haven't met an intelligent person yet who started an unprovoked fight yet, and I sure hope intelligent ppl don't act that stupid. 22 years here, and I haven't started a fight, nor gotten myself into one, and I intend to keep it that way.

Maybe violence sorts the ranks in the street gang environments, but if a person need violence to support his/her feelings/arguments/opinions or whatever I don't think that person is straight in the head.

Simple as that. No matter who you are. If you have power, you use it. Give anyone enough power and they'll abuse it.

If you're a hulk sized mofo who can kick anyone from here to kingdom come and tell me you haven't once used your "powers" for personal gain or "evil"..or just for the heck of it...i won't believe you

Well, psychos...not you that is...don't think their doing anything wrong usually. You -might- have told someone, who thought they were gonna get their ass kicked, to sit down, ask for coffee (politely) and so forth.

Can't really say, when you're(or were) an intimidating guy, if you're intimidating people in doing thy biddding or not. Even asking a simple favor might have been seen as a warning to the person.

I got to dark-blue belt in ju Jitsu about 10 years ago and recently some one tried it on with me outside our local pub.

He was bigger than me and had a couple of mate's egging him on, so after he threw the first punch i drop kicked him in the nuts. He went down like a sack of potatoes and his friends where so shocked that they didn't try any thing.

There are more vital areas around the body, which 1 hit can incapcitate.

Strangely enought it was the only time i got into a fight after learning martial arts.

i got beaten up once in my adult life and it was by my (at the time) bf all because i'd just done a 12 hour shift at work and wouldnt go to the pub with him cos i was knackered,

he came home and i knew what was coming he'd never hit me b4 but i've grown up in a violent childhood and saw the signs, it still came as a shock and aside from thinking ow that hurt the other thought going through my mind was i cant believe this is happening to me, However....

even though he got the 1st few punches in i was so furious i got him a good'un and poked him in the eyes (had about 1 inch long nails at the time) which shut him up managed to get him a few more blows but he got me back as soon as i could i legged it and called the police, he was arrested and went to court.



One bit of advice, where possible always press charges, the coppers were excellent (none of thei shit you see on the soaps about them taking the bad guys side) and you have to think if he does it again will the next person be so lucky to escape??

Its not hitting women thats wrong - its hitting defensless people. Be they women, small men, children, animals, outnumbered etc. Ofc, if its in selfdefense its another thing, but you should never use more force than needed. I have no problem with a man slapping a women once if she attacks him, or throw her to the ground etc. Same thing if some drunken idiot attacks you when you do have friends around you. Just dont keep hitting someone after the attack has stoped.

Ive never had to actually fight myself, but ive averted a couple fights between other people. Probably because i dont drink, and im seldom at places where people do drink. Alcohol is behind most random violence id say.

That beeing said i was overcome with a powerful desire to hurt two guys that beat up my brother a few years back. He is a small guy, doesnt do any sports and isnt violent at all - they simply attacked him because he is an anti-facists and they were neonazis. Got to my senses before i did anthing rash though, and we got the satisfaction of seeing them convicted in court for what they had done.

I hate the double standard of guys who refuse to hit women... Personally i reuse to hit anyone unless i have no choice, at that point, man, woman, child or artichoke I will do everything in my power to take them out. Personally i'd prefer to incapacitate them without hurting them (was in a club once and saw some big guy hit a guy in a cloak room queue, so i quickly rushed up behind him and wrapped my arms round him and locked my hands together [whilst moving my head to the side of his to protect against headbutts] and quietly told him he was out of order and should leave the club immediately - and he did )

But yeah, if a woman decided to take a pop at me, she's fair game.

My mate got beat up by some boys while walking home a week ago, he's 18 and he won't leave the house anymore cos he thinks he's gonna get beat up - and there was no reason why he got beat up, just wrong place wrong time.

The reason I feel for the people that beat you up is, they have to do something like that just to get noticed, and it is for attention - Sad isn't it but it's true. and the reason there in groups like that is because it makes them feel safe and "hard". When there alone there insecure and unsafe. They normally have had a bad upbringing so they feel the need to do this.

And if you don't think they do it for attention, then your looking at the evidence right now. They got there own post on a big forum, grats to them.

agree 100% theres just no need for it, unless it is in self defence (and by that i dont mean defending your self against a verbal assult or just cos someone looks like theyre going to smack you.

As i've mentioned in previous threads violence against men is just as bad as violence against women, it all hurts the same and we all have feelings and if some one thinks theyre big enough to dish it out then they have to expect to take it aswell.
