If you havent got medal of hounour allied assualt or the demo, you have to get it, because I have the demo and it kicks some serious ass, it quite realistic, and I love taking out guys with grenades, as they shout Shizer (Sh*t in English).

I shall be buying it even though I found both demos to be slightly 'clunky'. I think the single-player will be something special, though the heavily scripted gameplay will limit its replay value (but then most SP games are scripted anyway).

Multiplayer is quite slow (by design) compared to other games of its type, is simply crap on a 56k modem and demands high system specs, all of which will limit its life.

All imo, obviously.

i have the game and i much prefer RtCW. you start the training in MoHAA and you think "wow, this game is great!", then you get past the first mission and the novelty starts to wear off. it's pretty, but it's also overrated imho.

Not played it but it's also overated, imo :) Everyone yaadering on about it as if it's a brand spanking new donkey or something. I'm happy with RtCW, atm.

yeah, and let's face it... do we need/want another new donkey?

Heh. You funny bigbb. :D Your website done, yet?

I personally think MOHAA will be a more far-reaching game than RtCW, but I suspect online play will be lacking. Might just be a case of getting used to a different style of play though.

Webby is under semi-permanent 'under construction'.

MoH may well be a more in depth game when it comes to single player, i've not seen it so as yet not formed the most accurate of conclusions. Multiplayer, well it's donkeys for bowls really, both RtCW and young MoH are quite slow and tactical based games. But, it really depends on the development of the community and the game as a whole to which one will house the multilayer community for this genre. I don't think there's room for both of these arses in the league forums, one's got to take second place.

I do fear with the lack of support from Nerve for RtCW and no official map pack releases we could see Wolfy taking the big dip.

hate to admit it after raving on and on about rtcw but ive actually gone back to cs lately.why? cos its just so easy thats why.no one seems to have the slightest idea whats going on,and the guns are a bit boring too.i stopped after getting 154 points on that castle map the other week.i may go back to it yet i dunno, but i certainly cant be bothered to buy another ww2 game like moh.
single player game? do they make single player games? what on earth for?? ;)

Didn't actually know that, not sure if that's official though. It won't be on mainstream servers unfortunatly, probably never will be either because most ppl probably haven't/won't download it.

I concur throdgrain, does get a bit boring.

perhaps its just me, but I struggle like fook with RtCW, simply cos my pings soooooo high, like 400 odd, but 160 in CS.:(

As for MOHAA, pld it for a few hours this morn when I got in from work. The sound is excellent through earphones, and the gameplay, whilst slow, is seemingly quite realistic. Hate the fact that the nme AI is so good though, makes it a challenge I spose.

Again, all IMO.

What frustrates me is that the enemy is able to go prone and shoot blindly (thought incredibly accurately) round corners with just hands visible, while the player can only crouch.

It is though, formulaic, staid and totally lacking anything in the form of innovation. DoD is doing what it's tried to do in mp, and the original RtCW did what the sp game attempts 10 years ago. The single player game plays like a WW2 version of Elite Force, even down to the last battle. Guess who produced EF?

Have we not moved on in the past decade? Is this the best developers (outside of id internal games) can manage for a so called "big" game? MOH:AA at least attempts to mix realism in with the game and still makes it fun. RtCW is just largely a case of "Been there, done that".

Agreed, RTCW was very dull imo. Looked *ok* but to be honest, there was nothing there that made me gawp. The weapons were alright, but they all felt kinda lame, like they weren't real or tangible (which of course they werent but MOH does a much better job in this respect). agh i'm rambling, but in short i thought rtcw was boring and uninspiring, seems to have been just as bad as q3 in the single player dept. Though i've not played it online.

welllllll... it wasn't all i hoped, but i still enjoyed the single player, apart from a couple of parts. it wasn't short, it lasted a good amount of time. and who says we need massive innovation? the game was great fun imo, and the multiplayer simply kicks ass (if you have enough compitent players that is)

Q3 is shit in single player, agreed. Far far too easy, even on Nightmare mode. Far far better online. I've been playing it nearly 3 years now, so it must be half decent :D

And Callous: The point in innovating is to do something new with your work. How Grey Matter (formerly Xatrix) can look themselves in the mirror I don't know.

Otherwise what's the point? People could just play the games that already did what RtCW is doing in that case.

it didn't do anything immensly groundbreaking or new, BUT IT WAS FUN TO PLAY. the tweaks made to the q3 engine shine through (the flamethrower is nothing short of breathtaking), the outdoor terrain capabilities were enhanced 5 fold.

so, to summarise: i enjoyed it, you didn't. :)

The flamer was the only high point about the game.

As for the outdoor terrain capabilities being enhanced 5 times? Tosh. :)

Team Arena improvements which were built into the Q3 exe from 1.27 onwards. Those maps are entirely possible in Q3, it just for q3 levels they are a bit too big and would ruin gameplay.

RtCW sucks ass, I haven't played it but I've watched it being played and found it as boring as watching a documentry about trains. In my opinion I found that the original medal of honour on the playstation, although didn't look as good as RtCW was much more playable. Its definately a case of been there done that. Lets face it, which is more fun, storming your way through the normandy beach lands saving private Ryan stylee, then advancing through Nazi controlled Europe using the weapons of the 2nd world war, or fighting zombies in the dungeons of some fictional castle using the weapons of the 2nd world war.
Which one haven't we done before?

lol, muggins here read the whole thing.

i'd rather play the beach map in RtCW multi or the (limited but still fun) alternative in UT

and when did you last go "fighting zombies in the dungeons of some fictional castle using the weapons of the 2nd world war"?
