What's wrong with it just because it's not a 50kg beast?

By proper dog I mean for example Springer Spaniels, Goldens, Labs etc.

Since when did the old family dogs get replaced by genetically fucked up dogs like the one at the top? all they honestly can do is get carried around or eat/shit.

edit: this is imo what a proper dog looks like, one who isn't bred for generations to be gimped.

Any Pedigree breed has been bred for generations for the look and character. The gene pools are not big hence pedigree dogs suffer from a lot of inherited conditions.

Springers - bad hips and arthitis.
Labs - cancer in older age.

Heinz 57 varieties dog are usually more inteligent.

Have had Alsatians, Choc Brown Labs and cross breeds. I have no real preference as it's the character of the dog which makes the biggest difference imo.

Jack Russell's > all. They are one of cleverest dogs of the lot in my experience, they generally don't suffer from genetic issues as they are one of the lesser pedigrees that haven't been inter-bred too much. Also as working dogs 'ratters' they are second to none, they fucking hate cats as well which is a bonus. :) Plus thier size makes them very practical for the modern home.

Ye im very much aware of the springers bad hips, my family has had 6 of them in total since I was born.

My point was that, yes all dogs are bred to the point they are currently at but the small 'celebrity' dogs are bred even further than that, most of them have problems breathing, too big eyes and a tendency to injure them, the fact that they get exhausted running across your yard is another one. Some of them even has problems eating due to how their mouths are built.

And Toh, you should meet a springer tbh - no more playful dog anywhere, not to speak about the fact that if they decide to run anywhere they'll get there without breaking a sweat, honestly if I let our dogs out at a nearby field they can run around playing for hours without getting tired and I have to actually chase them around to get them home.

That said, I still want a golden :)
