Sat here at FH towers and heard some planes, looked out of the window and saw a Lancaster bomber with two fighters on the wings (Spitfires or Hurricanes) fly low overhead.

God I love it when the Farnborough Air Show is on.

Can concur, there was a midsummer air show(every year) at where i spend my solstice and the two f-16s that were supposed to come cancelled. So there we were, waiting for some old boring act to start and out of nowhere, very low, two f-16s back to back fly right over.

That and the rumble of the afterburner of a hornet, taking a lift to xk height while releasing all flares it had were just amazing.

I've heard that the Joint Strike Fighter is making an appearance over the next two days. You just cannot beat airshows. On the way home tonight I saw the Red Arrows flying and doing their act. Awesome. Everyone on the motorway slowed down just to watch and every bridge had people stood watching.

The Farnborough Air Show is the largest in the world. 7 days. 5 trade, 2 public. If you can come over make sure you do it on an even year and sample a great event.

Early last year I was doing a bit of diving near Akrotiri in Cyprus. Surfaced to the Red Arrows practicing right above us (with their first female pilot we were told later). Awesome.

I understand they had a Raptor at Farnborough earlier this week; would have liked to have seen that; JSF (F-35), not so much...

I absolutely love the Red Arrows. Best air team in the world imo. They have a female pilot now?

If I am around I will record some of the event and upload it. Every time I hear the planes it gives me goosebumps. Just cannot explain it.

It might be a colossal waste of money, but its a fucking mental plane.
