Actually, I'm a bit miffed at a carlsberg advert, which sells a non-english lager (as opposed to an English ale), using the death of Bobby Robson just to skank a bit of cash out of the easily influenced.

I'm no Bobby Robson zealot. It's just cynical to use a dead man in an advert IMHO.

I'm presuming they've paid his family a fair bit for it tho...

I guess he answered your prayer, THRER IS A GAWD?!?!

My guess, you can see him catch the back end of the mortar round on the edge of the tube. This releases the propellant charge before the round has reached the stronger part of the tube at the base leading to the tube going bang and the flash.

There's a good chance he'd have survived that, so long as the main charge didn't go off. If the round was set properly it shouldn't have done because it becomes 'live' in flight.
