I think its to do with keeping things as tidy and simple as possible.

But if i did use it - thanks summo!

I am also a fan of the neat and tidy desktop, but this toolbar is invaluable. Particularly the 'Image Search' button for those Phast Phorum Photoshop Phreads. The built-in pop-up stopper seems to be working very nicely, too.

I'm not entirely sure I'd trust the autofill to keep my credit/debit card details. :)

Back to the GoogleBar:

As well as a clone for Mozilla/Firebird, there is also a Firebird extension that enhances the search box itself, allowing you to add more options it (by default it has Google, DMOZ and "Find In Page".

Sadly, mozdev.org is down, so I can't get the extensions page up right now. I'll post more for that when it returns. For those who do like thier browser interface sleek though, this might be preferable.

My browser bar currently has just one row, which is nice :)

EDIT:// Here we go: Adding more Search Engines to Mozilla and Firebird

I've downloaded the GoogleBar and squished it up next to the address bar. It looks alright but I'll have to get used to using it before I can judge properly.

Talking of Google, did you know?...
If you enter the phrase "weapons of mass destruction" and press the "I'm feeling lucky button" you get a very interesting error page.

Ah yes, "French Military Victories" was the other goodun.

Mildly angering when you consider it was probably made by a neo-nationalistic American, but funny until the brain engages none the less.
