Went live today for the UK - rather amusingly theres pictures of 3 guys I work with outside our afterwork local pub - only the one who's looking straight at the camera is blurred - all 3 are completely identifiable.

What do people think of it? Sinister Google big brother or innocent fun?

Hmm, it feels creepy using it, but rather cool also.

There is a guy down my road who is always on his porch, or talking to other people infront of their houses. He got captured by the sneaky cams!

Same, my next door neighbour, the slightly racist, drunk, angry guy was captured. Shirt off, arse crack showing as it always does, accosting some passer by. It's really captured life on my street rather well. :)

It wasn't obvious to me either Chilly, I was looking for a "street view" button or something. I eventually found out I had to zoom fully in on an area (which also doesn't tell me which bits are mapped) then it snapped to street view.

I'm sure someone will put me in my place and say "omg n00b, you do this".

It's freaky... can read my front door number.

The bit I don't get though, is why they've not taken the opportunity to improve the road lines. Many of them still run down the pavement or anywhere other than the middle of the road.

I fucking love it.

Arsed about with it for 2 hours in work today, and it'll help me in work a HUGE amount there, because I'll be able to tell our bin squads EXACTLY where to go.

Also where they should be able to pick bins up.

:D

Ayee, i managed to use Streetview in an area of Liverpool, although as soon as i started trying to move out of the area it wouldnt go any further on the Streetview.

So some places are seemingly enabled whereas others not far away are not.

He used to have more though (the Norbury bloke) and has been at it since the 1980's from what I remember. He had a huge inflatable bloke in his back garden with one finger up to the council, and a tank in his front drive at one point.
