Maths done...

C1 - beautiful paper
C2 - oh god....:eek7:

Done them in January :d

Although I am taking C2 again on 2nd June to try and get some free UMS marks. I had S1 on Thursday which went fuckin well except I misread something as >99 rather than <99 but should only be 3-4 marks dropped.

Wait till C3/C4 - they make C1/C2 look like a walk in the park!

Btw - those who think a-levels are getting too easily - I wouldn't exactly say so. Take one of the core ones like maths, english or science, and you will find they are not as easy as one might think.

Take it a step further and do further maths.

The problem is more the fact that there are far too many a-level subjects open. This has led to alot of unis simply not counting certain a-levels such as media studies and I.T.

I know tonnes of people who got that bit wrong, read it as exceeds instead of is exceeded by. I think the grade boundary will be pretty low this year.

I think further maths is a hard A-level, but the papers are very predictable and its just a matter of practice.

Are you doing M1/M2 this Wednesday?

A lot of my classmates made the same mistake. I was so fuckin confident about that paper until I realised my mistake.

I did M1 in January and got 81/100, so I'm not in dire need of retaking it but I will do when I've studied M2 as apparently M2 makes M1 look like a walk in the park.

Further Maths A-level is hard because of fp really - the rest of the modules are sound. I intend to do the AS level only, which is fp1, s2 (or m2) and d1. The only challenging module there is fp1.

Ah, im going for 12 in total i think. Will probably go for Fp1-3 but it depends how i find it.

Yeah M2 in comparison to M1 is like C4 to C2. The ideas you look at are straight forwards, but the exam questions are often quite unusual and require a bit of thought on the day.

S2 is easier i would say, the topics seem to lead on to each other rather than in S1 where it's just random crap. It's also pretty short as well.

it does seem to be the case and if you ever need to know most of the stuff they make you re-gurgitate for an exam you look it up anyway :p

They tech quantumn mechanics but do they understand it? Do they bollocks understand it... As for the NN can you build me one which I can input metabolic flux data along with class information and press go to see what it comes up with?

That's why I'm doing non of them at Uni!

They aren't waster subjects, Philosophy of Religion and Religious Ethics is the foundation of a well rounded eductation. Everyone should be made to do it!

religious education was shit but it got me a B

most of it was about trying to make us give money to africans.
a lot of the time i questioned the teacher and she would usually end up spending the whole hour of class trying to answer me.

Since when did Religion hold the ethical monopoly? Most people take those kinds of courses because they don't know what they want to do and take an easy road through the A-levels or because they just need non-defined A level grades to get onto their uni course of choice. In which case it's still a cop out. Four subjects is not a well rounded education and I wish I didn't have to go through all those changes to SATS and GCSEs and A-levels as the guinea pig year.

Some invigilators (sp?) at our school took away the REQUIRED reading resources for a whole year 11 gcse english exam because a small minority had written notes in them apparently.

Needless to say a lot of parents will be complaining.

Fuckin invigilators! ;d
