Good Value?

I have just found this site.

Using it I have specced a system based on an Athlon64 3500+ chip with dual 160Gb hard drives, 1GB of RAM and a GeForce 6800GT graphics card. I also put in a 400W cooler power supply and went for the 4 USB 2 port option.

No DVD or CD drives, I'll use my existing ones, likewise with the soundcard.

No other extras at all software etc.

The whole lot, including a case weighed in at around £980. I am not sure that I could get all those components any cheaper myself, and I would still have to build it myself. I could probably achieve this, but having had a few disasters in the past with just single component changes I would prefer to get a prebuilt system.

So what do you think of the site? IS the whole thing good value or not?

Thanks

Compare prices at www.overclockers.co.uk RB, if its any cheaper or similar then tell me what you want and I can go get it and build you the pc(they are 5 minutes away from me) if you want. You just pay for the postage down to you when its done.

Well heres the thing. Have you heard from anybody else who has bought from them? Because unless you have anecdotal evidence of their services, then I wouldn't bother.

Tom, you're right.

They do have testimonials on their site, as well as e-Bay feedback, though that is mostly for selling very cheap power supplies.

I'm gonna get slated here but I do love the Geforce cards(way more than the Radeons), so I agree with that. WD are by far the best hard drives out there imo. Personally I would always go for Intel processors, just a personal preference as I do alot of dvd authoring etc. Asus mobos are great whether its for an Intel or AMD so thats a good choice. Sexy case as well.

All in all its a good system chum but its still a grand.

I was going to say what Tom said as well, its all well and good getting cheap stuff but its a twat if one of those items doesn't work and the company plays silly buggers when it comes to swapping it.

Can't beat going into a shop and buying pc stuff tbh.

Except by getting someone else to go into a shop, buy it and build it for you. :D
