Hey,

I am looking for a nice place to get away to for the weekend, max 100-120 miles from London, any suggestions? Must be countryside/small town with stuff to do.

Because some people like the countryside?

I wouldn't live in London; horrible place. Prefer towns with a nice country atmos myself.

I live in norfolk, in a small village around 20-30 miles from anywhere you would consider a big town. Not sure if its close enough to london for you though.

Most of the villages around here are similar, typical 'country villages' out in the middles of nowhere.

The one I'm in is possibly one of the bigger ones in the area, having two(!) pubs, a convenience shop, a fish & chip shop and a pizza place.

most of the others in my area have a pub or two, although not much else :) loads of fields and a couple of huge forests between the villages, ideal for walking and camping, the odd castle ruins here and there too if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Its nice and quiet, kinda like a clique of what you expect of country life. Having been in middlesborough for the past two months I really appreciate the change of pace :)

Norfol Rocks, was born there in Norwich, lived in a place called Bunwell near Wydneham or something like that lol :) I would recommend Norfolk but it really is like a country side quiet retreat as not much else goes on there :p

top spot for a weekend with the missus agreed, or even longer, i moved here :)
quiet laid back safe market town with a strangly good buzz due to all the tourist activity.

if u want a serious (pub) night out (or 2) try leamington spa, more for a lads weekend tho.

If you live just on the outskirts of London you get the best of both worlds.
