Hi, im debating whether to start a char on Hib, Or Mid, so i thought i'd post asking anyone if they had anything to say about any mid class before i made my decision, i know they are all suppost to be equal, but anyone with any tips, particular in reference to RvR, is welcome to give me some advice on choosing a class :)

There is no reply to this question, Arwen.

Are you looking to solo or to group ? Would you rather be a support character to a group or a main damage dealer ?

All Mid classes are needed in a balance group. Solo people will either go for the rogue classes or the pure tank class, group friendly people will possibly favour the mystics and the people who like to support, help etc will go for seers, but that's nothing to do with the realm of Midgard, it's to do with game dynamics.

Everyone will either tell you that their personal class is completely gimped or the very best in the game (I play a rogue Shadowblade, it's both at the same time) so you can't really take people's emotional response as a guideline to how you want to play...

In my humble opinion, anyway. Chose a class that fits what you like doing in PvE, level it up how you like. Come level 40, you can respec it to an RvR friendly template and no matter what class you are, if you enjoy playing it and are good at it you should have no problem finding groups and enjoying yourself.

<rant on> Arwen, you seem to post this type of question every day on the excal boards and several on prydwen.... cant you just use the search function ? Really id like to see "interesting" stuff on these boards besides people who are so useless they cant use the search function when they have already asked the same question on several other forums!! </rant off>

I find Healer is great fun personally, makes a nice change from my Shadowblade that although is the most fun ever at times...can get a little tiresome at points.

I've never made a question asking what mid classes were good in my entire life, and more to the point with the new patches, it’s quite possible there could be major changes to classes which would make their characteristics much different. Sorry if his royal highness doesn't approve of my topics but you're going to have to live with it.

It's hard to recommend a fun class as they will most likely get a phat nerf sometime (eg bonedancer/savage) but i'm not going to recommend a crap class as they are crap :)

I would suggest a runemaster, going for 47 rc 26 supp. you will prolly level to 50 at about the time they boost bolts in rvr which should be great fun, also you'll get pbt so be useful in groups. From personal experience I wouldn't recommend healer as a fun class as I find it dull to play, but it depends on the person.

Try em and see. You'll get a decent idea of what they're like by getting them to level 10 and that doesn't take long these days (5-6 hours with kill-tasks in SI).

Noone can tell you what you will have most fun playing because that's really down to you.

For information about the Healer class you can take a look at my Healer Guide :)

if you want a fun class, a good class...
play a thane.

Thane isnt the best class in the game, but deffo will stay un nerfed untill Mythic nerfed every other mid class. :p

don't bother asking, there's gonna be a "How do i spec <class>" and "How do i play <class>" for each class soon just like (s)he did on the alb boards

Unless you have someone to group with or to pl you it´s gonna be rather hard to reach lvl 50 with a healer nowdays though. Since most groups around are either people with buffbots or people-new-to-the-game-that-don´t-know-what-they-do-and-therefor-ends-up-getting-the-healer-killed-all-the-time-groups (short noob groups). Was better in the early days when you could lvl something without having to solo or own a buffbot account to get highlvl.
If i would make another char i would look for a pbaoe group or i would make one that can solo stuff, which healers can´t. Perhaps a RC runie, sup bd, BA bd, dark RM or somekind of tank. Cave shammies can solo rather well also.

It is easier to point the finger, than to offer a helping hand.

i see you changed your sig.

Might i remind you that after i gave you tons of help , be it in normal thread and pm's with sites to read etc .
After, i saw you insisted in spamming threads about every possible class showing you ignored my -back then friendly- words.

what's the point of helping you out every time if you insist on being blatantly ignorant anyhow?

They're all fun in PvE. Just don't expect to be able to do anything at L50 without being in one of the uberl337 and ignorant guilds who want nothing to do with the riffraff of the realm; Warders, BaF, B.O., Maelstrom to name but a few. They are one of the main reasons Midgard currently suffers constantly at the hands of the Albion zergh.

Ya blame us for running in 1 fg and not the 3-4 fg random mids sitting at amg-apk for the zerg.. you must be realy smart

A lot of people seem to like the new SI classes in mid : savage and bonedancers.
For the rest : see first reply, that pretty much says it all. I like the classes I'm playing : skald, savage and hunter.

Klavrynd is right(for once) about your constant spamming about which realm/class/duo/spec is the best, only to ask the same questions a week later on another forum. Sure, sometimes you need to ask a little advice, but you do it to the extreme.

If someone's taken time to help you out on Alb, then see's you on the Midgard forum, who are also tricked into answering your posts, then they see you on the Hib forum with those stupid Hibernians answering your pathetic questions...

Here's the answer you've been looking for since the day you purchased DAoC:
THERE IS NO BEST CLASS

Now play the game and enjoy it. If all you want is to be Uber, roll a Shadowzerker w/buffbot. The way you're going, switching realms every patch, to join the most UBER realm will get you a bunch of nerfed characters, so stfu and play the class you enjoy playing.

What a load of drivel. The zerg exists at all levels of this game, and guilds have nothing to do with it. In Thidranki in the last few nights I've been in 8 guild groups almost constantly (that's groups with eight members, each one from a different guild). Some people were good, some were not - so what - it's a game, not a matter of life and death.

Making posts suggesting that guilds like the one that invited my lowly ass to join them are ignorant and won't help out others, is just a very good way of fermenting problems.

Some people will believe you and start behaving badly towards people they've never even met, and might even tell others how nasty these people are, making a bad situation worse. Ask them what happened to them to cause this rancour and they actually don't know, which is hardly surprising as nothing bad ever happened to them.

It is impossible for all people to like all other people - I already don't like you :) - but for heaven's sake take it somewhere else. If you have a problem with these guilds, take it up with them. My observation would be that if there are so many guilds that you don't like, the problem probably lies more at your door than theirs.

I'm just a lowly being in Maelstrom, and nothing I say is representative of anything the guild leaders might say. Obviously that's because I'm a nice guy as opposed to all the other members who are elitist souls that are so uberl33t they don't even talk to me.

For what it's worth, I've been playing since DAoC started in the US, been in a few guilds, and even GMed two, and the folk in Maelstrom are right up there with the nicest people it's been my pleasure to meet.
