One of my favs is a Daishi with no heat sinks, and 6 RAC2's with an extra ton of armour each.
Ballistics generate no heat so you just wont overheat even in desert.
You can pick between armour/speed, I like getting in the thick of it so i cut down speed and maxxed my armour out.
There are some good configs using glads involving gauss's and ER's.
I'm still experimenting with a few of them.
If you want a top notch brawler go for the daishi with 6 RAC2's.
Its pretty damn good, a laser boat DOES have a slight advantage, but if your playing on a heat server you have a huge advantage as they will overheat.
