well i decided to (wen i get 50) make a hibby char on excal.

Just wanted thoughts on what char 2 make:

was thinking

Bard(pvp)- insta aoe and single mez, pow song, end song, mezz, heals, buffs and resists ( crappy mele tho)

Chanter(pvp/e)- light or mana - mana = pbaoe debuff and dmg shiel (nerfed?) light = really nice nukes

or even a warden (pve)- pbt (ofc) speed, buffs ( nice haste self buff i hear) grp dmg add, heals and aparently are really good in pve

no tanks plz... was thinking more along support class lines or a good caster

please leave and ideas or tips for spec etc

thanks alot for l@@king

ps. lvl 48 now

hello,

first off - light chanters is of no use, for you or anyone else at this point.
the baseline chanter dd will still do more damage with the debuff than you ever will as light spec.
You might still be inclined to try this alternative, but dont, your also missing out on the potential utility a mana chanter have.

So if you want a chanter, mana is the way to go.

If you choose a bard, you will have a very hard time in rvr, as the class is hard to play on a consistently high niveau, and people playing this class should always have a hotline open to mental help. Many people are ungratefull concerning your playstyle, nomatter how hard you try and how great you do :) But if you like a challenge, bard is certainly, imo, the biggest you can get in Hibernia, and if you control your char good, you will seldom lack groups.

For other support theres the druid and warden, both classes is quite essential for a good group in rvr and pve. And again, if you play your char properly - you will have no trouble finding groups for rvr, and to a lesser extent pve.

As it have been stated above, the valewalker is also quite fun to play, lots of utility, but not the most groupfriendly char, atm.

I would recommend that you tried out chanter first, atleast to get a hint of how a hib caster works, seeing that you only? char is a necro, which is somewhat different from all other caster classes.

after your initial "training" with the chanter, and you enjoy the PBAOE aspect, and aim for rvr action, you should try out the mana Eldritch - but for learning you will want to try a chanter.

mana eld

ok. mana eld they have pbaoe aswell but what makes them better than mana chanter...no dubuff and no nice snare pet and no pwnidge pve Dmg shield for pet ( solo from 40-50 = soo easy with that dmg shield and pbaoe).

do they hit harder?

and elf or luri for me chanter/eld (mana)

Also take into acount new frontiers, it seams ranged attacks are the order of the day, you mention playing a support class, maybe consider leveling a mana eld with pbaoe then respecing to void for bolts? not really a support class but i guess pbaoe is still a nice easy way to level.

the advantage of an Eldritch is mostly the str/con debuff, disease (although i do not know how effective it is in the game atm) and the snare component on the dd. furthermore, if you spec light as secondary, you will get nearsight, and dex/qui debuff aswell.

Elf or luri then?

Both are very viable, so go for looks :D Myself, I'd take a luri any time!
