Not sure if this is a techie question or a newb one but I thought I'd try it here.

I've been having linkdead/lag problems recently and until today assumed there were the same as everyone else suffers but then it occured to me that maybe it was a pc problem.

As an example of what happens - today I was just PvE in Camp Forest on Exc when during fights the picture would freeze but the music continues. After a few seconds my screen would display a powersave symbol and then turn off. No shaking of the mouse would resolve it although sometimes it would come on and show a big fuzzy image instead. I usually have to re-boot pc whereupon all my display settings are wrong. This happened about 3 times at 4pm today.

I'm using a Radeon 9700 on a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB. Any ideas anyone?

OK guys, I suppose that is a very obvious thing that I should have tried anyway. Cheers.

Well this is odd. I've turned it off and it still keeps happening. Can this only be a pc/monitor fault or could it be game related as it only seems to happen when I'm playing some of my alts of DAoC!?

You might've done this already, but anyway....

Get the latest drivers for your soundcard and graphics card (available on the webby of the producing company)
then restart daoc, and select [do complete file check]
let it run, and retry...

also, do you have the chipset drivers installed?
If you've got a VIA based motherboard go to www.viaarena.com
If you've got an nVidia motherboard, go to www.nvidia.com
etc etc..
check your mobo manual to see what kind of chipset brand you've got
