Going back in time....

Hiya peeps i was wondering does anyone recall and more importantly have any screenshots when we raided the hibs for there relic and got the relic to find out that the hibs had blockade MMG , and no matter how many times the mids tried to clear MMG to get the relic thro they got owned so our group with the relic had to run thro the 70+ hibs at MMG and made it! if any hibs or mids have any screenies i would like to post them on the webby thanks.



btw this was the first successful relic raid on the hibs ever on this server so i am going back a long time.

I remember that, was a great rvr day although we lost it. I think Madeleine was carrying the relic when you got through, no one knew that you even came through but we just hoped you were in crauchon. Suddenly we got the msg that hibernia strength relic have been captured

I wasn't at that relic raid.. but I was in Midgard when the relic went Neutral.. and we rushed to emain and found alot of hibs at mmg.. and heard that the relic was in DC .. and then someone suddenly said that the relic carrier passed mmg! .. omg how did he/she pass mmg was my first question

I do remember it allso from the alb point of view..

The relic went neutral and word spread though out alb to port to emain and camp MMG ..

becuase of the relic sitting for a while in DC (maybee because of the alb camping MMG) the albs force's grew very very large..

at that point we grew very confident we would snap the relic from you guys ...

then a rather large force of mids buildt up on the mid side of MMG ..

but it was no macth to the alb zerg ..

But then hibs showed up and turned the tide ...

With the hibs attacking from 1 side and mids from the other side the alb zerg slowly got killed ... but it seemed that going though the MMG cost mid's to much..
so after the albs got killed hibs killed the remanining mids and took over MMG..

then it was /release for me and my fellow albs ..
and between that time from /release and coming back to emain the relic ran though the hib forces ...

as i know it ..

but that was 1 of the epic battels in Excalibur history ..

well done by the relic carrier (and be happy that hibs didnt have instant mezz at that time)

I have 2 screenies of that one. I remember it clearly.
We were suppose to attack both hib relic keep at the same time. But the one that lead my raid party wasn`t awake or something, we walked way wrong and we ended up at the relic keep the other party had been bashing on. We thought we would drop the idea of the second relic keep, and rumors had it ~40 albs were camping mmg, so about 3 fg of us headed there to try and clear the path. What we found was not 40 albs, more like twice that number or so. Saw a BUNCH of albs, and when I was dead, quite a few more came from the mtk side of mmg. =)

Thought "omg, this will be tough". Ported back, just to find that the hibs were camping mmg instead! Surprise, surprise! =)
Dead, ported back. All the sudden I hear that the relic is on the way to our relic keep. If I recall correctly it was Tiffy? that had the relic. She said she ran right thought all those hibs, and I had a somewhat hard time believing that. But the relic was safe, and that was all that mattered.

Sidenote: While I died and ported back, I knew that the relic holder was in DC since mid had it. I think that the albs had a pretty good idea about this too since the relic was still neutral and the hibs camped mmg. They attack DC, they took DC. But if I recall correctly when speaking to Tiffy? she said she had jumped down and run around them. That was a great day indead. =)

Have 2 screenies of the albs at mmg, all I have though. =(

we didnt know where the relic was .. but infils reportet some middis sitting tigth in DC so we guessed that there was a big that the relic was in there... cant remember all details but i think that we could not agree about what to do ... some was afraid that if we move the entier force to DC MMG would be free and IF the relic was not inside DC mids would bring it home

We actually moved from DC cause we thought it was unsafe and moved to the grogans near mmg but we had a feeling that the albs was going to attack DC to get the relic which was a bit handy really we move cause about 10 mins after we left DC fell

I remember that raid well, I don't have any screenies though .

I recall me and Sheba (I think) did the scouting around Gorge and to give the all clear to go. We discovered several hibs experiencing around mushrooms, only a stone's throw away from relic keep. We decided in the best interests of the raid to kill them and to make out it was a only a SB hunting party in the vicinity (I was quite active soloing in Gorge in those days) in order not to give the game away.

As the relic posse were already on route we gave the all clear to approach relic keep. A short time later, Talivar and the lowbie Hibs return back to where we had ganked them earlier. As the raid party began setting up rams on the first door, we had to take them all out before they saw what was going on. While we were fighting one of the lowbie Hibs made a break and began running towards relic keep to escape us. As we gave chase, he died at the keep, and that's when we thought the game was well and truly up, and to prepare for the tide of Hibs incoming. To our fortune, no Hib arrived until after we had the relic.

The mad dash to get through Emain was the hardest part. I don't think I could move due to the lag where Albs and Hibs were camping our MMG. Our relic holder (Tiffy or Madalaine?) was at DC I believe, and the rest of us were trying to clear a path through back to our TK. Not sure what happened after as I died, and released and waited in Uppland when I heard that relic holder eventually got through and was porting over.

Would have been uber to to see the relic raid form DEV's point of view ...
was a very good day... AND with the add on taunt to hibs on BW laters fore letting the relic pass the entier hib force...
