The hell? That's going to be a film which looks crap but ends up being so bad it's good.

I liked the 98 version :(

Tis looks like it could be one of those popcorny, BUT ooh i haven't seen that before nerdy movies. Me likey.

Then again anything involving big lizards is cool.

YES!

The more Kaiju / Mecha films the better, IMO

Even better if they combine em like PR

I think it will be two hours of good dumb entertainment. Nothing else.
I really liked the soundtrack from the 1998 version though. P-Diddy with friends did a good job, and the sampling from Kashmir was brilliant.

I thought Pacific Rim was excellent, so here's hoping for more of the same.

Oh and The Hobbit pt2 is out this weekend. And the reviews are excellent. Win.

Just got back from watching it, fuckme Godzilla is one fat motherfucker. Film was ok, nothing to write home about and I felt that there was more music than dialogue in the second half of the film. I did think that this version was far superior to the Broderick one.

Wasn't hard to be better than that tho surely ;)
Indeed, the thing I remember the most about Godzilla, especially the cartoons, was that he fought for the humans. In this film it sorta went back to those roots.

Not once did Godzilla intentionally harm a human but there were some glaring issues. He spouted blue shit from his mouth, I recall him being able to breath fire, he fought a monster and had it in his mouth and the scene cut away, later on in the film the monster came back with no damage to its wings.

IIRC godzilla had fire from his gob in the cartoons but in the films it was some sort of electric blue shit...hold on...

Apparently it's "atomic breath" - and it changes on directors whims...

Ah that explains it, like I said I remember the cartoons with his "friends" roaming the seas on a boat with a panic button remote control to summon him when in trouble.

Saw this last night. Not quite what I was expecting.

Was okay, nothing special. Probably worth the watch once.
