God CS is so fucking ...

I'm pissed off with CS, finally.

Been playing Q3 all weekend for a change on lan w/ some friends, and we've all decided CS is the suck.

1. In CS a newbie and make a stupid move and kill a good player simply because the move is unexpected, in Q3/UT2k3 a newbie wont get a single frag.

2. Its so full of bs cheaters, me and my partner practice for japlan 2v2 tourny ( lan tourny @ unicon in manc ), every 5 games we play maybe 1-2 of them dont cheat.

3. I still love playing CS, but I stopped playing public CS a while ago for the most part - maybe 30-60 mins a week. But the general FAGNESS of public CS is starting to pervade clan play.

also as im on an hour or so an evening i can easily kick the cheats

Nah Cs has fucked me off far too much to continue playing it anymore.

No other HL mod interests me except kanonball and nobody plays that really ( dunno why its fucking class ).

Tribes Vengeance might be good but I doubt it the **** that did team rabbit and fucked up Tribes 2 is involved so it will be schiess.

Although Dave Georgeson isnt involved so it won't end up as a bug ridden shelf product like Tribes 2.

Tactical Ops is bloody class if you want a team based good vs bad guys game

spanks CS down to the kindergarden, and it's pretty cheat free.

I recently got Vietcong and have to say although most of the multiplayer maps are a bit wazz, the actual combat part is the best I've ever seen. The ability to duck behind logs, then just raise your gun up and aim over the log to shoot duck back behind it again is so much more realistic than anything else about.

And the Veitcong mode really does it for me. No running about with a target magically floating in front of you so you know when to shoot, if you want to aim accurately you have to hold the right mouse button to raise the run up and look down the barrel through the sights. Creeping through undergrowth in a small group with your guns all raised up and scanning for movement is so much better than bunnyhopping about and bazookaing everything at warp speed.

Hope more games implement features like that. (they might do already but I've not played everything about, just that this was the most impressive feature I've seen put in an fps for a long while)

Signed up to Planetside for a month because I thought I had caught the fps bug again but running around with a target in front of me and just pushing the button just ain't quite right. Although I still enjoy the larger scale warfare.

ECA you're so extreme , 2 weeks ago CS was the only game and all others are shit. Now its the otherway around.

I went through a CS hating stage at one point, refused to play anything but DoD for a while. But I got back into it about 2 months before my DSL arrived, and I reckon apart from dodgy netcode (1: Magic bullet syndrome and 2: no weapon on this planet has a bullet spread like the ones in CS do) I think its a pretty good game.

The trouble is person, not game related, and you'll get that anywhere at some point. The good, wanker free servers are out there, you just gotta look.


PS: Throddy, I had some German bloke taking the piss out out of the English people and English society in general last night. While we were playing DoD God, did we have fun with him

I think still think CS is the best game on the net.
But I would admit, some of the people who play it require castration at the very least. Cheats don't seem confined to lone players anymore, even clans have em - like they don't realise
There will be a certain clan getting a suprise like that in the near future quite likely. But its all the gayfaggot stuff (like Im fraid ECA comes out with) that ruins cs. The BW servers were always quite free of that, and god knows our KEA server is free of it, it has some ruthless admining

remember CS is the most popular FPS game, so it's bound to attract more kids/lamers/cheats than a much less popular mod. That's just the way it is and the way it always will be, and i'm worried that HL2 might be that way also.

Although BF1942 is fun, the actual combat side of it feels very light and wishy-washy. Feels all wrong. For me, DoD has the most solid feel.

Call of Duty has the sort of iron-sight that Vietcong has. Rather looking forward to that.

And I agree with those criticising all the 'gay' 'fag' stuff. Very immature choice of language that so many online people seem to think is fine to use. The fact that most of the people that use these words clearly don't get out much as they would find themselves beaten senseless if they spoke like that out loud in most venues round here (and no I'm not talking about gay bars but people just don't like morons)

Some of the reasons I don't play cs anymore and haven't done so in months.

I am with ECA on this one all the way. On the down side, I don't really play any mp games atm either. None of them keep my interest for more than a few hours.
