GOA GM look here..make vote for classic server

1. This paragraph is for GOA GM.

GOA GM, can you make a vote for all DAOC account holders to see if they
want a EU classic server or not, like you did for clustering. Also ask in what language the account holders would like on the server (too see if there would be enough english speaking account holders to support an english speaking classic server).

2. This paragraph is for all the fh junkies.

Here you can say right now on freddys if you like a classic server in EU or not while GOA decide if they are gonna hold a vote or not.

I will copy this thread to excal also so they can say what they think as well.

Without waiting for server clustering to be implemented, we have already begun working on the next version. Once again, you will be offered two versions at the same time. Version 1.76 brings new functionalities for guilds by adding interactions and challenges within those. As for version 1.77, its main focus consists of creating "classical" servers, that is servers without the Trials of Atlantis zones and with a lesser buff capability. We are closely examining American servers of this kind and we intend to conduct a survey in September to assess your level of interest in this kind of server. Naturally, we will take into account the language preferences of the European communities and the impact on the servers currently operational. Anyway, nothing will be decided before September and we will keep you informed on that matter in the meantime.

Sorry to sink your battleship but what makes you think a GoA GM is going to check your thread and act uniquely off it?

A lot of other people have made posts, pleas, personal letters etc. and it won't do much because as GoA have stated several times they need to see a huge percentage of interest and not just 100 people flashing threads about.

I highly daut your thread will make GoA suddenly consider Classic Servers even more for i daut it'll even get read.

I sincerely hope they don't, because for one the server doesn't even appeal to me anyway and two, as has already been said, the consequences would probably mean that Excal and Pryd would get slightly empty for a while.

I'm still fairly baffled as to what the appeal is about the classic servers anyway, all that it removes is TOA...which nowadays takes so little time to do I don't see the problem. You'll have a much harder time farming for the few obscure cata drops worth using with various +caps on.

What's the difference in doing ML raids and gathering artifacts compared to doing endless Darkspire raids?

With ML's and artifacts there's at least a slight variation. Darkspire is just the same old repeated instance for the uber items.

And, you will want the uber items anyways, just look at all the "classic" templates posted on varius yank boards.

Obviously I haven't tried it. But, I would imagine DS was quite a bit harder without access to FoP's and other ToA goodies.

Then there comes TG/Sidi/Galla raids too ofcourse...

Honestly classic servers rock, but an English server = death to Prydwen/Excal if you want classic go US..it would ruin the 2 English servers we have.

Wit none-toa the difference wouldnt be alot for someone who is "tweaked" wit DS gear to someone who aint.. once you hit 50 & get a reaosnable template done wetaher DS or not you can go RvR & have a good chance in next to no time, whereas atm on ToA servers going RvR wit no ToA bonuses you face a few probs:

Hard to find a group that will accept you if your not ToA'd
Some classes find it difficult to grp if your dont have a particular ML
Your at a big disadvantage to opposition that are fully ToA'd

Why havent i gone US classic servers yet?

Becuase it would mean dropping from my GG thats about to start rvr again on a regular basis \o/ , Ive spent months sorting my Chars out with ToA & i would have to start there knowing nobody & starting from scratch & leave lots of friends from hib/pryd etc..

Good points made by you, yet the game evolved, ML10 is possible in 3-4 Sundays, farming for 2nd char can be done with overpowered ML10 high RR toons, friendships exist to help.

So doing a new competitive char on classic would take for me as much time as do a second char on a normal server.

Actually I start to like some of the PvE grinding in ToA... transforming into a korean .

Oh, you are very wrong here m8. A classic server WILL BE on EU server. its just a matter of "When".
I could very well see a classic server opened alongside the clustering on Excal/pry.

it wouldnt really be a classic server, it'd just be a non toa server rly. If it was a to be a proper classic server+ si that would rock imo. None of the rest of the patchs/ expansions.
