A very fair point. I'm just worked up about these types of things in general as they seem to exist all around the Internet. Granted there is an argument that the responses were jokey, but the sentiment is still there (and misguided).
That isn't the purpose of this exercise, this is a nudge to get PC Gamer to stop acting like BW and its community are less important just because the company has been around the financial block a few times.Originally posted by ignus
Ok I vote we all go to war on MaverickNick, he's arguing with TedTheDog.
I think it was warranted, as you lot came here looking to slag off a very fine magazine, with a clear ethos on morals and the facts. They did not say BW died, they said fell, which is completely correct. It is your comments which are unwarranted, not mine. I have my proof, look at that link I posted. Now give me yours. I have no agenda, I just don't like people like you coming to slag Matt et al off.
Taken from The Financial Times
Your Group's new media division (now incorporating BarrysWorld) is likely to
lose a similar amount to last year's £1.9m, with a near breakeven in this
second half compared with a loss in the second half of last year of £1.2m. Its
prospects for at least break even over the whole of next year are enhanced by
a recent move from a free model to a pay model for on-line gameplay. Your
Board's consistent attitude to new media has been to view it as an additional
marketing tool rather than a replacement for traditional retail channels.

I was referring to the attitude toward Gamer.
