happened to me once in france:

GF: says something to him in fluent french
HIM: *all smiles and light* explains to my GF exactly where to go
ME: tell him to get anally shagged to death by rabid swine Susan.
GF: you're such a bastard Andrew, didn't he just help us?
ME: but....but....
GF: I want to go shopping!
ME: *sigh*

Wrong I'm afraid. Our Kings were Norman. Normandy and Angevy belonged to the Plantagenets before England did. After John lost most of it to France we occaisonally tried to get it back. Or at least capture a few French nobles for ransom. Good money in that.

And how many times have you helped the bunch of stick-out-like-a-sore-thumb tourists on the street wherever you live? Just because you met the wrong frenchman (or whatever) and his reply wasn't to your satisfaction, you bitch about the entire city?

You sound like a bit of a spack who went to France (I presume) and had a bad experience there or summat, so decide to slam them for being arrogant. I've been there a lot (Paris and other cities/areas) and I can tell you it's nothing like you proclaim.

tbh, ive never found that.

If you try to speak to them in French they will try and help you. Im not fluent in french at all, but I do know some phrases. When you try, they try.




However, there is a difference. Once you tell them you are Scottish they are a lot friendlier.

For some strange, strange reason, they dont seem to like the English
