Anyone else got an account yet? What do you think of it?

So far I've been playing with the keyboard shortcuts. Really useful IMO.

I've had an account for about a week now, seems nice enough. Not using it enough to warrant using the shortcuts yet though.

I have 100MB webspace that I've not managed to fill even 1% of. Then when I get home, I download them there and WOW 300GB email space :D

I had the offer of one, but turned it down - don't really see that much point, tbh. My Uni account gives me 100 megs, and doesn't put any adverts in :)

I've had one for about a week as well, I think it's great. The Google approach is really well implemented.

It's like when Hotmail started, everyone wanted an account with a name that they chose, rather than the name that they chose and a bunch of numbers because the username was already taken. (firstname@gmail.com rawks) :)

I've taken to the using of "misnomer" as a nickname in various places recently and had planned on using that as my gmail address, but uhm. A friend of mine got in before me and requested my help in choosing a name. I asked him to check to see if misnomer was available or not (I hadn't gotten an invite yet) and he, somehow, accidentally entered it as his account name rather than checking availability (presumably he just hit enter or something.) So yeah. It's not often that an account name is so perfectly accurate. See?

My homotard fanclub has probably already stolen my name so screw gmail, qmail, kmail and email until I can think of a better handle.

I never really understood this rush to have a nice name on someone else's email domain - just buy your own and you can have anything you like :)

it can easily be summerised thusly:

own domain == cost
other domain !== cost

I've got my own domain, but it still forwards to something else :/
P.S. I hardly ever use email, it sucks. Only use it for shopping.

True. But it's nowt compared to the annual upgrade costs of the average PC ;)
