my reason - i can kill them with a bow before they reach me
a reason i dont like them..they dont usually come at me solo.

Perhaps they know its not a "solo" fight they'd be running into, or theres that savage being a group char thing going on... :-|

Savages don't have to be a group char, but they aren't exactly utilized for solo. Why? Because when shouts wears off they lose 5% hp per shout, a shout lasts 15s and let's face it, savages don't even hit as hard as zerkers anymore. At least main part of the savage population don't. So if you fire haste, DPS, evade shout and a resist shout when engaging in combat you'll have 80% hp after 15s + the dmg taken during those 15s. Quad hits appear only 2% of the hits, miss rate is higher than on other classes and dmg table is varies MUCH moer than any other char. (i.e. sometimes you may hit for 400+ in main hand, other times you'll hit for 100+)

They aren't overpowered anymore.

Savages are good for DAoC becuase they balance the game out, albs are so overpowerd, MID needed an equally, yet (obviously) not as overpowerd class to help them against the overpowerd high utility groups albion have.

Heh I think it's the other way around.. a lot of savages have quit/rerolled lately, because they just aren't worthwhile in groups anymore.. at least most of the time.

lol, didn't we get the same quote when zerkers were 'nerfed' to just being the best damage dealing tank in the game?

Seems a typical Mid/Excal mentality. 'hmm, I can't drop heavy tanks in 3 seconds anymore. I better reroll to < insert latest fotm overpowered mid char >'

I often cry myself to sleep at night when I think of all those poor mid tanks and the crap damage they do.......

Dunno about the zerker nerf.. never had one before the nerf. Don't know if you aim the mentality thing at me (I'm mid/pryd.. hib/excal), but I'm not really whining that savages are bad.. just stating it as a fact. I adapted, and I still play my savage as my main. Can't say much about RvR anymore, since I don't get many groups, and the rvr guilds dont want savages, but in PvE I'm in trouble if I get 1 purp add. If a warrior (again can't say about other classes), get's a purp add or maybe 2 or 3 it's just another mob in the line (and here I'm not complaining that warriors are better than savages in pve because they are and I know it, and I don't think it's wrong. Just trying to compare)

In my usual fight with 1657WS fullbuffed against orange con DF mobs, I very often miss at least 50% of the main hand hits, and I'd say 90% of those hits I miss 100% (as in sometimes I miss main hand but get dual/tripple/quad hits i.e. miss miss hit hit, but mostly just miss or miss miss, if you get my meaning)
Can't say how other people do in PvE, but it would be nice if my hit rate wasn't so bad. Could live with lower dmg, but it's just so boring when missing all the time.

Oh So all those people that said they only rolled there Savages for DF Farming werent telling the Truth ;> ?

Savage's Are just as 'Powerful' As they used to be and still capable of killing most Class's in a few swings but in the Age of Toa BG / Grapple* they arent as useful as Casters who can do more damage and faster without much interuption. Tanks got Toa 2 you know. Also maybe the RvR groups dont want your savage as opposed to A Savage, thats a possiblity to consider not saying they do xD


*< Not on the Savage's who understand that they have more buttons to mash than haste / dmg / evade xD>

Can't really speak for them can I? I made a savage as my 2nd char. First was zerker I levelled from 1-19 for bg0, but I found it to be boring. Then I tried savage, and as I advanced I began to like the class. I was lvl 50 for 1 or 2 weeks before the nerf, so I don't know about why ppl would roll savages for DF farm.

Do you even play a savage yourself? If so, I'm glad that you are as powerful as you used to be, but many savages I've spoken to including myself of course are hardly anything we used to be. Can't complain if the ppl I hit are weak, but that's another story.

Oh I read your very precise post about % figures conjured out of the air. I also read those imaginary damage logs of how under preforming the class was ^^. My Point of Toa is that with it your savage is much better at killing than it was before and your immune to Grapple. No other Tank can become that immune as easliy.

Well I was trying to word it gently. Maybe your a crap savage and the other rvr guilds know this so dont invite you. You claim savages are not 'overpowered' / 'Uber' etc anymore and that you struggle with orange cons in DF buffed. Maybe thats why xD ?
