What sort of job do you do now and what don't you like about it ?

Being stuck in a job that you find does not flick ze switch for you sucks.. its just a case of finding out what things you enjoy (practical work, academic style, be your own boss, have people work for you, happy to work for others, happy to start at the bottom and work up etc).

Give list of what your looking for and well see if we can break down a list of jobs or routes into that kinda profession.

For example after 10 years of office style work (trying different types of roles)I decided that I realy could not see my self doing that for the rest of me life. After a year of dithering I though about trying something practical (rulled plumbing out not working with shit ^^,) so enrolled on a one week carpentry course really enjoyed it so have enrolled on a two year evening course to become a qualified carpenter. I checked various job sites to see what kinda work you could get (lots of different types from Set buliding in the film work to more development style stuff.

cool, nice to see people are changing there lives to do what htey like :D

what does carpentry entail? hours wise etc, and are there many jobs about? also how does it pay. im in 6th form, going to uni next year, but i think after that i will get bored and want to do a practical job, carpentry sounds like something id enjoy, certainly as a side line hobby that id take up after a few years of boring work :D

JP Morgan Chase have a big operation in Bournemouth. Pop along to some of the agencies and see if there are any vacancies there. Failing that, I know a few ppl at JP Morgan who might be able to help you out. Drop me a PM if interested in a temp banking job (£18 - £42 per hour - I know its not much - but hey its better than a kick in the whatsits).

-and telling reeeaally crappy jokes in a moderately convincing accent....

but if they do im their gal!!

It involves sitting at a computer between 7 - 10 hours (depending on how much £££ u wanna notch up), talking to clients, throwing large sums of money between accounts, using words like "disparity" and "dynamic", moaning about the weather, surfing the net, and listening to the bird at the next desk talking on and on about her dog Trixie taking a dump on her new kitchen floor and that all men are bastards.

If its any help, my sister supported herself going to college by working for Sky (The TV company ;)) She worked in the customer services part where you only got calls from people who already had Sky, plus all the problems are usually textbook and you read the solutions from the screen.

But this is obviously only if you like being on the telephone and can handle people who only have a 5 word vocabulary and 4 of the words start with "F". She makes a load of money, and claims its a load of fun (Not to mention free Sky TV!)

I would suggest what I worked at before I went to Uni, but no one should ever have to go through the experience of working at McDonalds :(
