I have cousins live down in Callington in Cornwall, pretty much everyone who's ever lived in Callington has worked at the Ginsters factory at least once in their lives so here's a story I once got told:
Workers on the pasty production line were banned from bringing pens and / or pencils anywhere near the line since the early 1990s as it had become a fad to sign the inside of a pasty. Since then, female workers have a habit of wearing thick eyeshadow so that, instead of with ink, they can sign a pasty with blue eyeshadow instead.
So.....next time you're about to bite into a pasty open her up first and see if you've got a signed handmade jobbie .
