what im after is some kind of machine or device that is designed to massage the hands. ideally if it was designed just for people with rheumatoid arthritis.

i tryed searching google with all kinds of search terms. most links came back with finger vibrators to stimulate the clitoris

In work we have a lot of RSI injurys and people with joint pains. Can't remember the name of it but there is a device that you hold in your hand and have to move it in a circular motion to build up speed. Has a speed counter on it for revs per minute.

my mate has one, dont know if they work for joint pain but they are quite fun and supposed to build muscle strength

it's a powerball that Sas speaks of. look for "NSD Powerball"

I have one, and if you do it properly it's a very good wrist/arm workout. Not too sure about the fingers though, but you'll have to give it a try.
Also, working a powerball can take some effort tbh. When it's up to speed it generates a 15kg virtual weight from the centrifugal forces.
