I have a copy of HL2, and a copy of HL2 ep1 that I can give away as a gift (because I already owned them when I bought The Orange Box over steam).

Anyone want?

Ok you can have it. PM me your email address, thats all I need. Valve will then send you download instructions. No charge.

That leaves just HL2.

Welp this can be the official freebie thread - How do I find out what games I already have? I probably have stuff to give away right now too.

Well, seeing as i'm one of the people who never touched HL2 with a 10 foot pole because of Half life 1, and feeling that HL2 was just a steaming pile of overhyped...Halflife:)p)...people can ofcourse prove me wrong :D

I'd give away free stuff too, if i had the possibility to gain stuff in the first place :(

How are people supposed to play the games when the cant warez them :(

Well said spastic, I work in the industry and I buy all my games. I will not play pirated games, doing so would be against my beliefs and threaten my job. Moron.

At the time it was launched, it was pretty shabby. Since then it has moved on, and I don't have an internet connection, so I couldn't play it even if I wanted to. The concept of forcing users to have an internet connection to play a single player game is incredibly stupid, and cost quite a few number of users. Had the game launched with a proper (non dodgy) way of playing the single player game, I might have considered it (although my home pc probably isn't powerful enough to play it well).

You only need to be online to register it, and only one time. You don't need to be online to play it.

Yes, I know. Still, without an internet connection, how does one register it to be able to play? That is the point.

But if you dont have an internet connection why would you even need steam? Pointless discussion.

Thoroughly enjoying Portal and Ep2 - fantastic games. Ep2 has gripped me from the start even with the movie flashback of Ep1's story.
Back to Portal - got stuck :|

Are you seriously telling us that you can't connect your computer to the internet at home?

Erm, cal?

You can't play hl2 without authing it online with steam.

I was merely pointing out that the majority of games available on steam are multiplayer over the internet. Was not talking about hl2 never even installed it myself.
