Does anyone has the full version of this game? If is, is it any good? I was impressed with demo, particularly the luvly graffics.

And does it have dedicated server support from Barrysworld?

Graphics alone do not a good game make, and anyways, peeps turn almost everything off in pursuit of the all important fps, ala Quake3.

Gameplay makes up for an awful lot, and Ghost Recon (well the demo anyway), has pretty good gameplay. Hopefully the full version is just as good.

I don't care if it's better/worse than cunt0rstrike either.

Is good, but the Ai is a little shakey IMHO. Get Operation Flashpoint instead if you want to play soldier, Better still get RTCW.

TBH in the rogue spear range of games graphics had very little to do with it.

Ghost recon is the daddy, ok, the graphics might be slightly under par but tbh that doesnt bother me, it means i get a smoooth game with no jerkiness at all. Let's face it though they are by no means bad, sure they dont have the smooth pristene look of RTCW but they get the job done and ive not found the gfx to hinder my game at all.

Gameplay wise the game is fantastic and multiplayer is just spot on. I was playing some with a friend yesterday and the visual effects are stunning. Imagine running away from the enemy while M203 grenades are exploding all around you, the atmosphere is awesome its like being in a movie. All the little touches just make it perfect like little chunks of grass flying through the air as a rocket smashes into the ground.

Thats my 2 penneth worth anyways, fantastic game, dont let the gfx put you off.

One big problem I had was that big clunky crosshair. I couldn't see where I was aiming!

I have Ghost recon and it is fhacking fantastic. GFX are pretty good (not to mention the fact i have a gf3 and turn FSAA on quincunx which smoothens out the jaggies). Some of the gfx are superb, especially the animations and skins, eg. the way the uniform becomes visibly wet after wading through water (if you have waded through water at waist height up to the waist looks drenched - makes it seem almost real), your boots become muddy, and best of all, you can see breath on the snow maps, not only that but it comes out in 2 jets like it is coming out of nostrils.

The single player is good. nuff said.

Multiplayer is superb, a few of us from #HAI have played a couple of co-op games and it is fantastic. With Built in Voice comms like VoIP it would be even better but you can still play quite well tgether and co-ordinate well by typing.

Yup, one of the few games i have been glad i bought this year.

How strange. The demo seemed utter utter shit. Graphics were so poor and the engine so slow that I couldn't bring myself to play it after a while. It's like they'd heard of textures but assumed it just happened in other games. Enemy AI was weak, and I felt I'd get a better fight shooting sacks of dogs cocks. Which is also what this game was.

Have I missed something, or have you just not played Operation Flashpoint, Custy? Am I really out on my own here or did others not like t either?

I didn't play the demo so it comes as a suprise to read people dissing the graphics and playability.

As Custy said, us #hai lads have given it a good bash and in multiplayer it rocks everything else. OPF was great but this is even better. Enemy AI is strong in the co-op levels and it's look is sooooo atmospheric that when you play the Russian level you feel cold.

Another graphical nice touch is when you shoot a baddie through trees or bushes leaves fall around where the bullet went.

Some HAI lads and some EQ chappies tried to play some King of the Hill DM but it didn't happen due to technical difficulties. Hope to sort them out cos some full military tactical interclan DM would go down a right treat.

I too am suprised by peoples thoughts on the graphics, I thought they were nice- the first fps to have trees that blow in the wind! l33t0r!!11 Now you don't get that in HL or OpFp!!11

I agree the graphics arent the best, the moving trees makes it look as if its running in software mode. But the gameplay is excellent and really thats what matters most to me. Oh and nice music score too!

Has anyone tried 8x Antistropic filtering on the new nVidia drivers. They make games like RtCW look so, so nice!

Yes: I do have Operation Flashpoint and I play it online quite a bit with my Chums from #hai

No: I do not think GR is as good as OpFlash

Yes: I do like GR (it is possible to like more than one game at a time)

No: I do not agree with your OPINION about GFX (ok textures are a little shabby but they are more than adequate for a game like this) and AI

Yes: People can have different opinions, your differs from mine

No: I havn't played the demo

Yes: it is possible that the quality of the demo is different from that of the full product.

Thing is, they are so crap yet it still runs so slow. And the menu interface is awful.

Soz, Custy I wasn't meant to sound like I was imposing my opinions on you, or nuffin.

I am genuinely surprised that people are really liking this game as I was so appalled by the shoddiness of the demo. I am sincerely interested in what peeps thinks makes it so good. I was wondering if I missed summat fundamental while playing the demo.

My OPINION is the same as MT's. I found the textures so awful that it looked like my whole screen was just full of random pixels. It looked like one of those Magic Eye things where if you stare at it for long enough a picture of a hand holding an M16 appears.

Each to their own, but I expected this to go the way of Daikatana and am surprised to hear of people's happiness with it. To everyone playing Ghost Recon, well good on yer. I hope you enjoy it.
