Just bought an Ms intellimouse optical...... it's jerky as fuck, and extremely oversensitive, and I'm having severe problems getting used to it. I have a shit surface, rat pad the way, but will this solve my problems?

I've never had a single problem with either of the Optical Intellimouses I've had... The cordless one, otoh, was a bunch of arse. :/

It's not shiny is it? Optical mice hate shiny surfaces... Always confused me why they would display them on mirrors in shops, as that was just about the only surface it wouldn't work on...

I use an Everglide Giganta, works great with my Logitech Optical. If the rat pad is the same ish design. Then sounds like your mouse is a dud :(

Not a problem! Optical mice lurve rough surfaces, helps tracking. Is it reflective? the desk?

If it's especially "featureless" then it will have problems. Use a mouse mat, or better still do what I do and get an Everglide :D

/looks at Exor :p

I had a similar Problem with my OptiMouse, which i posted the Prob in the HL Forums, the problem was the light from the mouse hit the shiny surface (my desk) causin it to go crazy, all you need is to put something on the desk to stoip it reflecting

I can recommend a sheet of papaer, works for one of my friends.

When it gets a bit dirty, he just rips off the top sheet.
