Yes, straight to tendon would be better, but it still seems a problem though they do have direct to bone prosthesis for dogs, so the skin-false limb seal has been worked out.

Also he had his real, knackered hand removed to have it fitted,
So that means thirty years..people will be removing good parts to replace them with artificial ones.
