best to put everything you do on your cv so it doesnt have any employment gaps

Well I managed to get two postings today from my agency.

1. Exam invigilator
2. Receptionist

Can little things like this be put on a CV? I was thinking of putting the agency as the employer and positions as "various"

Depends if you want a permenant job or not. Many employers will see a CV with a long duration doing only multiple temping jobs as having been moved between jobs and unstable, therefore unsuitable for perm employment.

Then again, less experience if you dont put it on - catch 22!

But then im not a 40 year old, im 23 and have beenm to university.
Do employers really expect someone in my situation to have stuck to one job since they were 16?

Apologies for the slow reply. Helluva day!

Yes and no. University effectively wipes the slate as nobody expects graduates to have much experience (maybe a part-time or summer job or two, perhaps a work placement on some degrees, that's it).

Like anything, it's the perception of an action rather than the reality that counts.

Just put a reason for leaving each temp job you've had even if it was only "3 week contract" or "Completed work assigned" etc and that should help.

Thankfully, i'm not 40 yet either.

Yeah but you can always say this;

"Whilst working at several different companies over the past few years, I was also employed by Ron Jeremy as his personal 'Cleaner Upper' after shoots. I have been doing this since leaving college which shows I am more than able to get my hands dirty like a slaaaaagggg."

This guy has a few good articles buried in amongst all the Americanised shite he talks:

Ask The Headhunter® | Nick Corcodilos

Specifically those about dealing with HR and contacting a hiring manager directly and negotiating salary.

Bear in mind he's a Yank, so you have to de-sensationalise everything he says and put it into British sensibilities and language, but the points are sound.
