As a hib I can say that not once have I wondered whether or not Alpha was cheating. He killed me often enough though, but I always think of a dozen ways how he could have snuck up to me unnoticed. It's not like the Hibernians have a formidable intelligence network. Even if a NS happens to look in the right place and notice him, chances of his findings reaching you (by /gu or /as or /send) are still far from 100%. And even IF I know Alpha's wherabouts, he can stealth or speed up and still jump me.

Maybe if I was suspicious by nature and knew a lot about cheating and had bad experience with cheaters, I'd more easily doubt Alpha's honesty... but no proof = no accusation, that's just common courtesy. During my time as a q2 player, there was 1 thing that ruined the game more than cheaters, and that was sore losers calling any player beating them a cheater.

last time I was defending DC was with mainly NP ppl... an armsman and cleric (I think) jumped up on the walls from outside... I didnt really notice who it was, as all was damn laggy.. but they died fast.

A little later I noticed a bluecon minstrel who had done the same thing in stealth, and he had jumped up on the little hut and stood up there mezzing some of us :|
I tried to get up there but got targeted by some casters and took alot of dmg and shortly after an infil finished me off...

ok i'm to lazy to read all the answers on this tread but still:

last week i was defending a keep (think it was DC) and when the hibs had pulled the guards outside i see 3 persons pop in the midle of the yard. (they had aparently logged there earlier or sumtin) so they go around ganking me and the 2 other defenders from the inside.. wyould you call that cheating or just lucky logging?

The bluecon minstrel was Lightspeed (from Royal Bavarians, and yes: I do have screenshot of it - haven't recieved a reply from GOA yet tho), dunno who the armsman or cleric are, as I first arrived mid-siege - hopefully someone from NP (or perhaps a few albs?) may have screenshot of those two, so we can get rid of 'em.

... just a shame so few people can be bothered reporting genuine cheaters, it'd make the game so much better for the rest of us :(

On a side-note: Fundra <Raven Claw>, Darkwizz <Art of War>, Stone <Black Falcons> is also doing this wall-jumping - PM me if you wish to see screenshots.

I have seen saxo do this myself and he told me he was a platewearing infiltrator and giggled to himself a bit. He has been doing this for a while and several times over the course of a week or so. I have no screenshots though so haven't reported him..

No need for screenshots, just tell goa date, time, name of the proposed cheater and /loc and they will look it up.

Some people log their alts inside keeps for exactly that reason, don't think there's much luck involved there ( ; Wouldn't call it cheating either, although I don't think it's the most honourable way to attack a keep.... on the other hand, what the hell were you doing in one of our keeps anyway, you filthy Alb :p

I have fought Alpha many time and seen him fight many times and he DOESNT CHEAT, he used good combos of mez, dds and melee and knows when to run. I have never managed to solo him (surprise surprise) but I have alos seen him use RAs and kill a lvl 50 Hero even after Moose, he knows what hes doing, uses diff styles and manourvers not just charge in and hope for the best.
Want to call him a cheater show some ss's or get some reliable peeps to vouch for you (lol) if he was cheating there would be many many more cheat threads about him cos he camps DL a bit and clocks up many a kill.


P.S Xero isnt banned hes guildless and hasnt been used cos luri rangers go squish too easily now

So its ok people use this bug to climb us the DC wall..but you all scream for someone to get banned if they fall into a zonewall hole and go on tour...double standerds..! as one person quoted an exploit is an exploit!

That is a lame assertion to make if you have no proof. Alpha has killed me many times in many places, and has showed that he knows them all very well, because even if he does run, we cant find him, even with SB's in our group. You can't flame someone for no reason, especially when all people have seen from him is skilled playing. The fact that he is Realm Rank seven should say something to you, because even >>IF<< he was using OE..... you still cant get that from not knowing your way around

To Alpha : ignore the lame flames...... Guess some peeps cant take it that you kill them too many times. One of the most skilled players ive had the pleasure to fight against.

guys i have the screenies of the DC raid when Saxo jumped up the wall, we had a lengthy conversation, that seemed to change alot as saxo tried to wriggle his way out of trouble.
once i have all the screenies sorted i will convert to JPG and send them to greg, i can't upload them (no web space), but if anyone wants them i can email them easy enough.

I've know of Alpha a long time now.. from the very start of Daoc Live (maybe beta to but cant remember that far back ;) )
Alpha knows the hib frontier better than most Hibs do, he knows how to play his character to the max, knows where all the hibs xp, knows all the routes people take to go to dif places. hes a pain in the ass i grant him that, but i've never thought that this person cheats, hes just a good player simple as that.
So please get off his back, just kill him in game so i can carry on to xp without having to worry about him poping up :)

Dont really have a clue how i would go about doing it either.

[edit]Hmm just noticed you cant see where the mouse was, but both of them guys were on the hut to the left as i thought the guy to the right could have just climed onto that wall (as with other keeps).

nah, they spoke about that in Camelot Herald, on the hut is fine because people can be targetted and killed up there. It's on the big gate tower at the very top that people havea problem with.

(Alpha can normally be found on top of the tower, from there he can DD people that are as far away as the AMG, whilst stealthing in the gorge and running at speed song 10 + Sprint past bolg, all this time, he is lifting his chain and showing the opposition his Odins eye-personally I think it's Arthur's eye, Odins eye is found on Killgorde's derrier...)

Aye i never thought that place was a bug. just jump on wall then jump on roof. Used to do it myself. Not done much rvr tho for a long time plus being only level 40 again it would be like suicide shooting from up there at the min.

I don't see Mikael abusing any bug in that thread, he gained nothing from the bug therefore he wasn't "abusing" it. He didn't even defend himself for God sake.

Climbing the walls is a different matter. Since you are gaining something by managing to get on there. I have a screenshot of two albs in the middle of the wall jumping away. This is the first time I've heard of this bug so I didn't realise it was possible to actually get on the wall (I figured they were doing something dodgy so I took the screenshot). Now that I know I'll be reporting anyone I see doing this whether they are in my realm or not.

You seriously think that would be ok?

Whereas it is not likely that someone could accidentally 'happen' onto a keep wall that was under siege, it is more likely you could fall into a hole in the zone wall, since these holes are known of, and don't disappear... how many times have you heard of people acidentally finding themselves on a keep wall, coincedentally as you were attacking it?

Well this thread has served it's purpose at least I got screenies taken from outside at the same time.

Subject is closed for me, I talked to Gregorian and as Saxo GMs he'll talk to him. If Saxo can be convinced it's not a good idea to try again, then so much the better and I'll be happy to fight him in the future, on flat ground and fair terms.

I never mentioned the screenshots, we are arguing situations here.

Is falling though a zone wall (deliberate or not) gaining you an advantage?

Is climbing over the wall, when your class does not have such an ability, during a keep raid, gaining you an advantage?

In my oppinion the answer to the first is no, the answer to the second is yes, that's the difference.
