I think Sky News summed up Wilkinson's drop-goal at the end best:

"England though had other ideas and when they moved the ball into the Australian 22 for the last time, Wilkinson drifted back into the pocket, and the whole world new[sic] what was coming."

For the aussies it must have been one of those 'saw it coming a mile off, but couldn't do anything about it' moments - absoloutely electric. It was amazing here at uni on the big screen, certainly something I'll never forget.

I think you're mistaking rugby players with footballers. There was a comparison of Jonny Wilkinson and David Beckham following the adidas (I think it was adidas anyway, correct me if I'm wrong) advert that they did together. Beckham gets paid in a week what Wilkinson will earn in a year - rugby is not where the big money is.

Johnny's drop kick was pretty sweet, not as good as Zinzan Brookes famous drop goal (Then again, he was number 8 and the captain, not the goal kicker which made it all the more sweet), but was a great finale to a truly great game (now you poms know what an average tri-nations game is like ).

was a good fun match to watch, got up early and out of work to watch it
just started to get into the rugby team at college so evidently the infusion of rugby into the country which is present, is due to the worldcup, and i think itll be permanent.
