lo ;)

I fancy having a go at playing quake again, its been sooo long since i last played and have lost touch with how ya set it up :(

Was wondering if quakeworld supports opengl with nvidia cards?
Is there any way to run quakeworld windowed so that i dont have to install my sblives dos drivers?

If someone would be kind enough to tell me how to set this up/what files i will need would be greatly appreciated :)

u will need quakeworld: ftp://ftp1.barrysworld.com/quake1/quakeworld/beta/qw233-0005.zip

glquake: im sure u can find this somewhere :)

IMPORTANT: unless u have a 3dfx card u MUST delete the opengl32.dll which glquake installs into the quake dir.

launch with a command line of something like:
c:\quake\glqwcl.exe -heapsize 33333 -zone 2048 -bpp 16 -width 640 -height 480

change the bpp/width/height parameters to desired colour depth/resolution... adding -window _should_ engage windowed mode tho i havent really used this in gl b4. i dunno y ure worried about dos sound drivers, quakeworld is purely a win32/linux application and will use wotever sound hardware your OS provides it with.
www.voodooextreme.com/3Fingers has some great basic stuff on glquake/qw, including links to where u can get hold of patches for vissed (see-thru) water etc...
