GeForce 3 Ti-500 or Radeon 8500?

yeah its a gf2mx which is quite old.i want to buy a new card but am scratcing me head for what to buy atm.thing is rtcw plyd really nice with the new drivers but i cannot do without colour correction.thing is the last but one drivers i downloaded had the colour correction tab but you couldnt use it! this version doesnt even have it on my pc,tho funnily enough it has the facililty of a shortcut on the tool bar to use it !

MOst problems with detonators are caused by incorrect installs.

If your det control panal is missing options chances are you are using mixed drivers caused by non uninstallation of the last set.

Before installing new dets you shoul always remove the old ones using add/remove programs, then reboot. Cancel the ewn hardware found and install the new drivers.

no its not that the control panel is missing,just that tab "colour correction" i have looked on the nvidea webby today and i dont see it on any of there pictures either

Do what ch3t said, or use nvmax or such like to totally kill all traces of the nvidia drivers then re-install them.

If not use older 1's - you dont have to upgrade you know (and as you've seen its not helped ya)

cheers m8.the thing is the new drivers WERE a lot better .particularly for rtcw,which seems to suffer from image tearing on the single player game,but didnt with the new drivers.its just no colour correction.maybe ill try again

The only problem i had was with the firs det4 (21.80?).

Other than that all the official drivers have worked fine first time for me, with either improvement in performance, or no loss of performance.

ch3tan u lucky man! ive tried 2 different det drivers,first had the colour tab but it didnt work,second didnt even have it.and its the only thing i want!if i could get that other thing for tweaking it would nt matter god how annoying!

i found this powerstrip thing on the web which gives me back the colour control.now rtcw runs fine and i can play q2 as well.

Who cares?

If you have £300 odd quid to waste and dont care, get a gf3 ti 500. If you care about your moeny get the radeon, simple really. I wouldn't spend £300 quid for a gf3 right now simply because there are probably new cards way too close round the corner.
