No, no. All new games published by Microsoft will require Vista, most other publishers/developers are happy to support Vista but will still be supporting XP via DirectX9 for some time to come. Microsoft have the entire Gears of War franchise stiched up and being the publisher they will direct Epic to only code the game for the Vista platform to help drive migration from XP. If that isn't the case when the announcement is made at E3 then I will be very very suprised.

there are different reasons for buying a console and pc
A console you buy for quick, reliable (ye ye i know, 360 is about as reliable as a one legged tripple jumper) gaming at the full intended quality with the least possible hassle
A pc is alot more work to setup in comparison, altho that said they are trying to bring console ethics to PC's for example Halo 2 tried to get over the pc's bane of install and play with the streaming install. And dx10 allowing greater control over computer hardware etc.. etc...

I cant see what all the anti-consolism is about, why buy a PS3? because it does a better job at what it is intended for than a PC

I'm hardly anti console, I just love find more reasons to not go and waste a massive sum on a PS3 now that my only two (main) reasons have gone.
