Whilst its easy to remember Gazza as a waster and a wife beater, I prefer to remember him as the most talented english player ive seen in my life time. A player who would spend hours signing autographs, wether it after a training session, when getting off the coach or after a game. A player who everyone in the industry rates as the nicest bloke they have ever met. I dont believe for one minute he brought his mental health problems on himself. Reading his book he had so many demons its untrue. How many englishmen can say that even today, they have godlike status on the streets of rome? Anyway, enjoy...

Terrible shame - one of the few players who had (and infact still does) a boyish enthusiasm for football unlike the jumped up moneygrabbers these days.

Though i do agree with Keegan - hopefully this will be the turning point for him.

Every player who plays football could play 100000x better if it was on the basis that they only got paid if they won.... and got paid 1/2 money if they drew..... instead of getting paid these stupid amounts for losing ......

I remember when he played for everton and I took my 6 year old cousin. Like true fanboys we waited for an autograph, but my cousin didnt have anything to get signed so Gazza whipped out a £50 note and signed it.

My cousin still has that £50 note :D
