I've decided that there's too much dust in my garage (also my workshop) so I want to coat and paint the floor.

My plain is to:

seal the concrete with a PVA sealant
use levelling compound on the floor to remove all the holes and wee bumps.
put a couple of coats of wickes dark grey garage floor paint down

Anyone see any major problems or got better ideas ?

No real point painting if you're going to use sealant. Levelling compound isn't a MUST but meh. Otherwise Make the garage more air-sealed. Most dust comes in from the outside. Also, hire an industrial air blower thing, empty your garage and give it a big ol' blow.

I guarantee that most of the dust in here is from the shit floor. I'm not paying (landlord is) so as long as the plan is reasonable I don't mind about the cost.

It'll look great until it gets wet, or oil gets on it, at which point you'll go flying.

Garage isnt used much for outdoor stuff, it's mainly my workshop. No vehicles (beyond my bike) in here.

Good plan, ill be tiling mine in a few weeks time. My tile shop does have the same sort of paint your talking about and is great in high traffic areas (shop). Not that slippy when wet, 2 coats is best imo.

It's where he doesn't finish his flying copter machine amongst other projects.

I'd recommend finding a non-slip epoxy floor paint if you can. Wickes stuff is OK but you get what you pay for.

you...you...have a workshop? you?
Mate I dismantled a bike and a bbq tonight. I put up some shelves, fixed the lawnmower and THEN smashed one out to midget porn. Of COURSE I have a workshop.

Wait to do it in warm dry weather if you're using a single pack floorpaint. Otherwise it'll take forever to dry, and will not last at all.

The traditional time in the trade to do your floors is Friday Morning before the August bank holiday, so it gets 3 hot days to dry before you set foot on it again. When I was a motor factor we used to do a promotion on the four days leading up to that and shift 100's of tins.

Problem is it's October mate. I've got heaters I can hang from the wall to help with drying - it aint a problem. It's not damp in here either.
