Games-Network on Sky is SHIT (Edit - and now Gone!!)

Those of you with Sky Digital may have wondered upon this pile of Eurotrash. (Channel 223)

The presenters (being mostly Italians) speak English as fluently as I speak Italian (Ciaow, Pizza and Zola is it for me!) and the production values are lower than a low thing.


They have no up-to-date news on games and most of the time they just play rollong demos of games with pop music!


Compare this with Dot.tv whic has Game Over, Deus Machina, Players and Gamechart which IMHO at least offer the gamer interesting news and reviews of the latest games.

Shame Dot.tv is gonna shut down soon

I saw it last night. It's soddy and has no clear format. I mean wtf cares what some japanese think of sonic? The channel maybe broadcasted in asia, but even there they will think "sonic is way old".

And the ads. Most are alien / ufo type. Why?

The presenters (saw a few programmes) are strange and look like they are in pain all the time and hardly speak english. Someone should point out italian is hardy spoken across the world.

I'll bet a tenner it closes before the year is out.

ITV used to have a good one but it was always on early morning and bits was fairly good and stuck on early morning originally.

I always loved Gamesmaster :)

Heh ive gotta agree. I've been "trying" to watch games network, but its the biggest pile-o-shite out there.

And wtf is this legend on mir stuff? ;)

aparently the only decent terrestrial show is called Cybernet on channel 4, but there just aint enough Channel 5 p0rn in one night to keep me up to 5am.:) :)

Ive been playing legends of mir, its alright but diablo2 is just so much better in graphics and gameplay. The only reason Ive been playing was because its free :)

I would love it if gamers got a PROPER channel all to themselves.

Imagine, apart from the usual reviews, previews and news stuff, a show dedicated to, say, showing highlights from a Clan match of CS or something with results etc from the leagues.


Imagine if they had a newbies guide (as mentioned in another thread) to various games.

Imagine if they hired SAS to host it!!


Imagine having late night gamers chat shows hosted by Perplex and Ch3tan (the new James Whales of gamers).



If EB could stump up another few million or so then I am sure it would work. BARRY TV anyone?

Cybernet is on ITV and Sci Fi channel. It's ok, but it's often too focused on kids games, like those multimedia noddy experiences™ or something like that.

Not too bad a show but OMG Violet Berlin!!! - from punk haired rebel type to plump suburbia housewife.

/Still with the lisp though.

And Partick Moore is FUCKING ACE ... he come from the same town as me ya know, that being Armagh (which is in Ireland) and I know you dumbfucks are going to say "he doesn't sound Irish" ...

Erm ... well I suppose he doesn't, but he's still from there and will tell you that himself (heard him say it on telly I did !!! )

Was that Gamespad more Console related, I just got ntlDigital today and saw the trailer but I didn't watchit cos its looked console only...

Bits was my fav with CyberNet coming in a distant 2nd due to its

We need a decent gaming TV show. Surely someone could do one based around Q3/CS/TFC late night?

Get sponsorship and a nice big prize and your'll get the best players. Few commentators and pundits, and a bit of hype - it would be great

Not realy, it would be as camp crap as that Mercenaries on bravo, not only that it would feature the same bunch of spoted geeks week after week:eek:.

Best one there's ever been was that 'game over' on .tv. Serious stuff with a tinge of humour without going overboard like most other shows do.

Talking of going overboard, wasn't 'gamesworld' the worst one of the lot. Not only did it have bob (not funny) mills hosting it, but it had just about the worst format ever seen, need i have to remind you, big boy barry et'al:p
