Industry insiders on a 100 strong + mailing list of journos conspiring to blame it on "misogynistic haters" and coordinate a response as a whole.
Industry exposed as seedy and lack of morals ( although we all knew this for fucking ever, its nothing new ).
Industry writers defending themselves by attacking people attacking them as hating women, and horrible people.
SJWs false flagging death threats/attacks on "the wimminz" to garner more support, but exposed for sham.

I think thats about where its at.

Her ex dumped a bunch of chatlogs and such that basically showed she'd been cheating on him with these guys while they were together and then showed a bunch of reviews from said people she'd been sleeping with recommending her shitty game.
Nobody really cares about that, it's the fact that review websites were dishonest and not disclosing that relationship, or that her game would never have been mentioned without it.

The only real criticism of her outside of cheating in a relationship is that she went on a SJW rampage and got a game dev event cancelled.

Most people are annoyed that reviews are being bought/sold, regardless of it not being dollars this time around

Ofc the mailing list of people ( which is publicly available now - someone leaked it ) are coordinating a defence that all criticism is coming from basement dwelling virgins who haet teh womenz.

so in theory if this had been a dude who had used good old techniques as bribery (the obvious or not so obvious kind) -and lets not pretend male game devs are all well balanced and high minded people, just look at Toht - would there have been as much ho-ha and morality warrioring from the internets?

i mean she was personally attacked online and her family harassed in real life which is waaay over the top reaction from anyone not actually involved in the case - not really something that should be "part of the job" for any industry

im pretty sure game devs (independent and larger) use all sorts of tactics to get favorable reviews (especially with smaller reviewers who might rely on the big companies being nice to them to be able to review anything at all)

so if she is using sex to get favorable reviews, thats a bit sad but shame on the reviewers (who are the real people who should be crucified over this tbh) - because if they accept sex in exchange for favorable reviews what else do they accept? it kinda throws all their reviews into doubt in my eyes

The reason its all reared up again is because of a film they made about her and two other women and their victimisation in a male dominated industry. Her shitty game was not successful despite getting good reviews for allegedly having sex with the reviewers. Maybe if they produced an awesome game it would game things. Producing some psycho babble blog dressed up as a game will not change the industry.

There is a reason it is a male dominated industry, 20-30 years ago girls were not playing games. Even now the percentages of women vs men playing games seriously is massively disproportionate. Its the same reason there and not many women car racers or fighter pilots. Things will change but they cannot expect it to happen overnight and that the few that are writing code/designing for games will get judged equally on performance not given a free pass. Equality is both sides!

Well, just read up on this whole saga (that's 15 minutes of my life I'm not getting back). Game journos and a woman prepared to have sex with them. There's a toxic combo. The most surprising thing about this whole thing is this woman seems to be an absolute master of the DMCA takedown notice.
