Gamecube price cut

The high street/store price differential is, I believe, going to become more and more of a factor. I understand the reasons for it but I think that the vast majority of people would take the same view ----- Tough. I only use high street stores if Im feeling rich and want a game there and then or if they are doing a good offer, sale etc --- other than that Id rather pay less and have it delivered straight to my door, usually within a day or two.

With more and more people going online and buying online, the high street share of the market is going to drop unless they do somethng about their prices

yup

I buy all my DVD's online and only buy games from a shop if, like you said lynch, I'm feeling well off as its pay day and want the game NOW. Even then I go to the local indie retailer who will have it for about a tenner cheaper than HMVVIRGINWHSMITH.com etc. Tbh I just laugh at the prices in the chain stores and wonder how come they haven't woke up to competitive pricing yet. Suprised some of the stores are still selling games tbh.

Go into Woolworths - staff don't have a CLUE about PC's or consoles, nevermind the products they are selling. Games will be sometimes (for PC) £40 or something stupid. Go next door to indie - £25. Surely someone on their staff in head office must KNOW this ffs.

kieron-

this was months ago mate, and considering i actually work in customer services, i know what sort of response i'll get...

"we're very sorry, yes i can appreciate your situation, yes it was wrong of them... but tbh eat shit and die" if i could have been arsed at the time i would have done something, but i'm a bit apathetic :)

by the way, pop example... icewind dale II... i ordered for £9.99 off the net... it was supposed to have a delivery charge of £1.50 (which didn't appear on the credit card statement for whatever reason - don't ask, i'm not complaining)

in game today the same game... blue cross sale - £19.99... so your rent and staffing costs justify you selling a game at DOUBLE the price of your online outlet? sheesh.

Ah well Icewind Dale II is actually only available at 50% off to GAME.NET subscribers as a special offer and is avialable in-store at £9.99 when bought with a GAME.NET subscription pack - so the prices are actually the same :)

So erm ...

Best

what ya mean?

but the point is i bought it for 9.99, i don't have a subscription...

to get it for 9.99 i'd have to have a subscription.. which costs money... so it's not the same.

did you study marketing or something?? :p

Ah well you benefitted from a glitch I will now close :)

I'm sure you deserved it for 9.99 anyway.
