I have to say that out of ALL the consoles up for release this will probably sell more than all of them put together!

I love my Gameboyshuh, huh and this one looks brilliant.

Imagine GBA linked Mario Kart for up to 4 players!

Here are some first impressions:

The GBA will also be able to link up with the Gamecube for some wicked 4-way pokémon battles!

Forget the x-box and the pantstation 2 - go with Nintendo!

Yes but don't buy the 'Fudge' coloured one, as when someone asks you what your computer is, you'll say "Why, iPaq Fudge!"

Hmmm

I used to play Doom in mine Ericsson MC 218. Too bad it was monochrome.

What it is really, is a mobile SNES. Sounds good for those who like there SNES gaming and mobile entertainment.

Yer Wij, I agree about the injustice in the shortlife of the Neo Geo Pocket.

I got my bro one for Xmas 1999 and it was brill.

Still, GBA looks like its gonna be the only console to live up to its hype.

Probably true. PS2 is nowhere near the hype. The games don't even look that good, never mind the fact they're all shite atm. The only ones that look like they will be good (e.g. MGS2) have 2 year developmont cycles at least :/

I have played the demo version of MGS2.

It's pretty decent, but would I shell out 300 squid to play it?

No.

Gran Turismo 3 looks cool too, but would I shell out 300 squid to play that and MGS2?

No.

anyone remember the Game Gear? That baby could play games at stunning gfx levels, makes the GBA look a little tame in comparison.

I still have my Gamgear in mint condition. Sonic the hedgehog, global gladiators, alien3 etc.

Ahh those were the days :)

GBA = SNES but I think them asking £30 to play games I already bought in 1992 (e.g Super Mario Kart) is a little bit steep. I'm still gettin one though.

Yeah, but Mario Kart and F-Zero linked for 2-4players!

Anyway, I happen to think the SNES was a great machine with some truly groundbreaking games.

I had a Gamegear too. Bought a TV tuner for it as well.

Also had an Atari Lynx. California Games on the go was brilliant.

I ignored the hype when buying my PS2. I only bought it to play Tekken Tag :). You still cant beat having all yer m8s round and kicking their arses at Tekken and Tony Hawk's :).

The thing that worries me about GBA, is that so far the launch lineup is full of old SNES titles. Now a) I was a Mega Drive not SNES person. b) Nostalgia isnt as much fun as it used to be.

GBs have been the biggest selling machine since they came out. However I like the Gamecube but from what I'm reading Nintendo are likely to stuff us again by treating us as third rate games players :(

Even if I had both I certainly wouldn't use the GBA as a controller for the gamecube since the lack of buttons. It'll be good as a mini-game unit or as an advanced memory card....much like the VMU on a Dc....just more advanced.
