But what I'm saying is, the fact that you *could* be bothered to stick it out that long is nothing to be proud of.
I'm sorry, but there's only one kind of person who could spurt such words of utter blasphemy... The Casual Gamer

Just yesterday i completed Discword Noir, a game i first started playing about 3yrs ago. Does this make me a sad git, that i would play old games through to completion? Or does it make me a gamer; someone who enjoys playing games enough to finish them?

The original GTA was a fine game. It was addictive, it was original, it was challenging, and it was amusing. I can think of few games that could compete with its compellingness(if that's even a word). Maybe idiots who found it too difficult will disagree with me, but anybody who completed that game(without cheating) will surely have to appreciate what a classic it was/is. And Stu, i've never played GTA3 or Vice City, but since they're mainstream crap, aimed at Casual Gamers, i can imagine that they are very easy

I still play discworld 2 to completion every few years, great game. Civilization 2, klingon honour guard.

No shame in that.

And yes, compared to GTA and GTA2, GTA3 and VC were faaaar to easy mission wise.

Since when did being a Casual Gamer gecome a bad thing? Or is this the same way using Windows is a bad thing? Or having a social life?

Back on track...

I thought the whole show was exactly what is NOT required for the industry as a whole.

Crash Bandicoot? eh? what the FUCK is that about? That fucking awful dance-mat thing? Tekken? jeez.

The fact that Tony Hawks won the sports category title just about summed up the "event" for me.

It didn't help that the main guy presenting it was a bit of a nonce, people should really leave doing "jokes" (if you can call them that) to comedians or someone with more than a basic understanding of comic timing.

It's STILL not projecting the right feeling, it's still all a bit - I dunno really how to describe it, but I bet everyone here who watched it cringed about 10 times a minute.

I'd have given that bird one tho - so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
