Game service query

You will have to forgive this question if it sounds silly, has it's still my first week here. Do the game servers have downtime to update etc?

I managed to log into play.game.net this morning, but since midday all I get is The page cannot be displayed message. This also happened last night but started working again within 30mins.

My system configuration is correct and the problems don't seem to be coming from my setup. Does this affect anyone else????
