What does everyone here use by way of Game Launchers.
The in-game one for HL is hardly user friendly and always seems to return higher pings than gamespy/kali.
I've tried Kali, which is ok, but had problems with Gamespy on my previous system, where it only did a partial uninstall and left my registry so messy it took ages to clean...

Of course I'm after free/shareware that supports mods. Ideally launching game on choosing of server, as I always have problems on mimizing my hl/q3 to kick off or check up on kali/gamespay...

Thanks in advance. Posted on the Q3 forum as well, to see if they have any other take on it (less story driven and thrill rush...better stop or I'll get in trouble).

Gamespy. Why would you want to uninstall it?

work laptop that I used when my home system was being delivered. work have got kinda picky about not installing software of any sort.

Anyway, my rule of thumb is that if something can't uninstall itself properly, it's only a half finished piece of code....holds for windoze...

Gamespy 3D or arcade...

I use Gamespy 3D at the moment and it does everything i need it to for free.

I fancy giving Arcade a try because it supports more games though (eg Giants)

Does anyone here use Gamespy arcade? are there any advantages apart from the extra games it supports?
Also is it more of a memory hog?

Yer I have Gamespy 3D too.

I love the deep voice -"Let's get on with the killing...."

I tried Pingtool once. Found it very messy.

I use Gamespy 3D because most other launchers cant touch it. Pingtool is a good program as well but it was very rough around the edges the last time I used it.

Yup - GameSpy 3D it has to be!....although the Wireplay software is good for using those servers...(oops - is Wireplay inappropriate around here?)
