What i am doing is pointing out as straef said (can't be arsed to check which it was) to have that RR means you had massive playtime at one point even if you sustained 20k per hour. And someone close this thread as i've agreed with straef twice in one day argh!!!

yes and my point is that none of you know anything about his rl, so all you do is make asumptions. it's very possible to make a lot of rps and still lead a very succesful, or more importantly, a very happy life.

but regardless of all that, why would anyone even care about the rl of another player that they don't even talk to on a regular basis? /shrug

I know about 15-20 DAOC players very well - well enough to consider them friends even though i've never met over half of them

None of them who earn large amounts of rp's per week have what i'd call brimming social lives. If playing a game for a large number of hours makes you happy then fair enough. Personally i've been there, done that and looking back at myself when I played that many hours, feel that I was more than a touch sad then.

Don't get me wrong, staj plays the class well - I just question the priorities of anyone who plays those kind of hours these days

I, for one, haven't commented on his real life (mainly because I lack one myself), tho it's fairly obvious that he (among others) spent a LOT of time on his character. That's not necissarily a bad thing, as there's plenty of players that manage to combine a full-time job, a social life and high amounts of game time. It does, however, make one look rather silly when criticising some of the less succesful players out there (rps-wise), as they might simply not spend as much time on gaining realm ranks or getting to work well in a group.

its a LOT harder NOT to add as a FG. like on your own you call the shots etc... but like in a FG you got 8 sets of itchey trigger fingers and as soon as someone starts thats it really hard to stop that wheel of motion. You can call staj a hypocrit but at the end of the day he is one of the most respected players in the game and Ive seen him out rvring bucket loads and seen hundreds of examples of him not adding and never once seen an example of him adding (even though hell im sure he has its impossible not to have).

So at the end of the day you can slag someone off, but its all bollacks because he is like known and respected and you are like an unknown random (fyi you cant buy that respect either you just slowly build it up over time)

imo anyway!

I agree, and in some situations it's more or less impossible not to add, unless you don't mind getting killed over it. But, knowing that, he shouldn't be bitching at me over IRC after having been added on while having done the same thing, not to mention the fact that I may have added on him once or twice, after not having added on him dozens of times, as I do generally avoid adding on him, and after getting bitched at and getting added on by his group once or twice, I continued doing so.

i was on 3 burgers an hr as i missed breakfast, but then i felt a bit sick so i didnt do anything except drink for the next hr or so while i made the food on the bbq, then drink some more in between idle chatter. But then someone brought some chocolate icecream cake so i couldnt exactly say no, i mean it is chocolate and icecream afterall at which point my body decided if i eat anymore it is going to explode prompting me to more drinking.
