I had this issue with my old laptop, and seems it now manifested also in my new desktop computer.

Current setup:
-windows vista ultimate
-latest nvidia forceware drivers (163.44)
-nvidia gforce 8800 gts
-2 gb ram
-intel dual core e6600 cpu
-22" 1650x1050 wide screen tft

The game just crashes, display goes black out despite I can see some hard drive activity after crash, the keyboard for one will no longer respond.

Is there cure for this?

ps: I've disabled vista's UAC.

tried "check all files" on the update client ? Could be that there's a file for West Skona that's damaged and therefor causes a crash when you try to enter the zone.

Txs will have to try that. Will also try to use default ui instead. who knows theres some ui issue which causes a crash..

Problem sounds odd.. JUST the game crashes? Or the whole laptop?

Nono mate, the problem used to be in my laptop, but now when I installed the game to my desktop, it also occured in that.

However, I bought the minotaur expansion, and I'm hoping by using that client instead the problem will be resolved (used to run catacombs client).

sound like a faulty texture file the full file check should solve it

however it could also be a bad sector on the hard disk if the full file check doesnt work try installing another copy in an other folder then copy your toons ini files, after that delete your old folder

Thanks for tips.

However seemed that the latest forceware beta was the thing which caused the crashes. I uninstalled it, and installed latest whql drivers by nvidia (Windows Vista 32-bit) and also used atlantic ui instead of custom ui (like derida). No crashes thus far :)
