Anyone given it a try? Is this the sort of thing that would have been useful way back but is pointless now with our quad core beasts?

meh looks like the perfect spyware injector tbh if it's shutting down processes it's going to have to run as administrator so, uh, yeah not on my pc thanks. FAR better to tune your os yourself imo.

Maybe, their defrag software is actually pretty good though. Been using it for ages, hence asking about this one.

i know a guy who uses a program like this (not sure if its the same one or not) - he says it definately helps and he is probably the most fussy, perfectionist git on the face of the planet.

take tour fav game dev for every good they prolly have a shit game as well

If you want a good defrag program go for JKDefrag, it is free and does a cracking job, far better than many commercial programs.

You don't use defrag programmes on SSDs at the moment.

every filesystem needs defragging, even ones that don't need it, like ReiserFS.

yeah I get it mate. though tbh I am quite distrustful of programs doing things for me. thee and me are more of a power user type user, and there are plenty of guides on the web detailing how to get the maximum out of one's performance. also, I especially dislike programs having to run as administrator to do their job.

i downlaoded it last night and played CSS for a hour or so, seemed ok, just shut down alot of services that i was not going to use and that was about it.

maybe a few frames per second more and the game loaded a bit quicker but thats about it

Not like i need anything like that, my cpu runs at 12 Gigabytes and a my hardrive is 120 Terarams! Not to mention my Boo Ray DCD player, god bless PC world!

On a serious note ill DL that and give it a go, anything that imporves performace is good in my book

It's not bad actually, it lets you pick other shit that's running to stop and restart, meant that I remembered to stop uTorrent before gaming for a change so didn't have to tab out and stop it.

Just got the newer version and its great does just the job, and you get the Advanced system care; which cleaned/boosted my poor lil laptop some to.
