I quite fancy getting The Witcher 2, should I play through the first one first though?

Dunno... it's an awesome bargain but I hated the gameplay mechanics... all of them. Moving was awkward, I kept getting stuck on objects. It just felt 'wrong'.

I "plaid" (hurrdurr) the second one, I guess there were some questions unanswered from the first game.

witcher and witcher 2 are different stories , and also different engines and play slightly differently, somewhat of an acquired taste, the second one does have QTEs but you can nerf them with a menu option

worth a punt if its cheap tbfh

I bought the Nemesis pack for HAWKEN yesterday. I was actually in the closed testing, but couldn't get anything done due to school constraints. Game turned out pretty fun: I teamed up with some random dude on a public UK server and he was pretty decent about having a noob tag along. I went support and tried keeping him alive while he laid the smack down on the bad men. Worked out fairly well.

I'm not too sure I'm in to the buying things ingame with earned or monied credits though. You can do all kinds of stuff, from weapons to trick paint jobs for your mech with the credits, and besides that there is also an XP system that unlocks things as your char levels. It all seems a bit confusing. Anyway, if anyone owns HAWKEN, feel free to friend me: I am TestinDaCable in game.

Humble Indie Bundle 11 is out. As I write this you can get Guacamelee gold edition, Dust, The Swapper, Monaco, Giana Sisters and Antichamber for less than $4.

More games will get added in a week or two.

I know talking about consoles and all that is frowned upon because "omg controllers" but Driver: San Francisco is less than £3 on Xbox Live atm, as well as a few other on the cheap.

Not in this thread, a game bargain is a game bargain is a game bargain.

Bought... thanks for the heads up. Antichamber and Guacamelee look pretty cool.

I have Hawken, started playing a couple of days back. Level 12 but still getting creamed by guys with fully kitted bots. Feel like sticking $20 bucks down just so I can at least get some ability items like the turrets and compete. Playing Berserker and small sniper (name escapes me) one atm. Fun game, my in-game id is Marricus but I'm in LA right now so odd playing hours (GMT -8).

Bullshit game is bullshit.

Played it but like in all FPS's this "gameplay mechanic" is the bastard brainchild of AIDS and Pancreatic Cancer.

so you sucked at it? ;-)

srsly though...I'm still trying to work out if I like it. Given that I also bought the humble bundle and have been playing Guacamelee and Dust:AET for a bit, stuff is hard to judge. I played with an L25 uk type as a tank and me as a tech and we had some absolutely awesome laughs. Some people off the pubbies (UK servers I play on) are actually pretty good and also decent types to play along side.

Re games; just now I also bought the entire set of FarCry games for about 15 euros. Given I have played exactly none of them, ever, imo it's a stonking deal imo.

Nah. Was pretty good at it I think, but I just didn't like it enough to spend my time on it. If I prefer other games, especially over a new one, then that's a pretty good sign that the one it isn't worth it.

Those of you who picked up the Humble Indie Bundle 11 (or were thinking about it), they've added three more games to the bundle today.

Fez (if you haven't got this yet, why not? (unless you hate Phil Fish))
Starseed Pilgrim

Summoner is on GOG for $4.79, it's not even on sale but the fact this game is finally on an up to date site is worth celebrating! :D :D :D
