I played some of JC2, got a bit bored of the samey type missions. Does it get more varied? It was great for the openness and you could infact do a lot, but the missions were all like take this area by killing everyone and blowing up everything.

It's the truest form of sandbox game out there. There are missions but they're nothing special. Ultimately you're supposed to make your own fun by doing really batshit crazy stuff.

I think I enjoyed JC1 more than JC2 - but JC2 does grow on you a bit. All the new planes and other vehicles are a laugh.

Crashing into a large jet midair with a fighter is fun - ejecting moments before, of course.

I do prefer JC2 to JC though I do miss taking control of areas. I enjoy that you can use your imagination to do missions like riding a 747 into an assassination target and jumping off at the last second, or hooking people to passing trucks as they try to take you out and then there's the fun to be had messing with the game like seeing how long your car can last if you drive off the tallest mountain.

Fancy a game?

For sure, but I won't have it installed until Thurs/Friday, I think... not alot of bandwidth and contention from the kids :(

Just had a look at GAME's download service, prices are reasonable - much cheaper than Steam. They let you download install files that can be burned onto a CD. For example JC2 is £18.99 on GAME compared to £29.99 on Steam, DOW2 Chaos Rising is £16.99 on GAME, £29.99 on Steam.

Well that's even better. My point was, fuck Steams prices though :)

Game's download is a good alternative.

savygamer does the hard work for you
SavyGamer is alright, but he'll point out good deals when they roll around for certain games. If you're after something specific, find-games is always the best way to find the cheapest place.

I use it too but I often find it cheaper looking for 2nd hand in Play.

Trade-in at Gamestation also saves a few bob when I'm in town. I've got £10 trade ins on games I bought new for ten to fifteen pounds new online and finished :) Spend that on second hand games and you practically get two games for the original price. A bit more if you trade again.

Tight as a gnat's chuff me.

Oh yeah, for filthy console bollocks trade-in and second hand is fine, but for PC games that's often not an option.

That's because SavyGamer (a.k.a. Lewie P) writes for them sometimes IIRC.

Shame it's an EA supported title. I hate them because of this list.
