One thing I notice when firing small arms at airplanes is that little bits of debris drop off when you hit, and as I mentioned before that small arms fire into the engine will quickly destroy a plane.

I got someone a few times with the tower MG, eventually he just rammed the plane into the tower to get me back

funniest moment was recently on the BW1 server for me

Allied medic, running down the airfield for the "hidden" aa gun behind the far bunker, watched as the jap Zero comes swooping in and I crouch and unload a full clip into the engine as it approaches...

nailed the plane good and proper, then watched as the burnt out wreckage landed on top of me

couple of other fun things, but most of it involved flying (using a joystick) and voice comms think "pearl harbour" and the fly by where they pull left at the last moment

Yes. I agree Summo likes to kill his Teammates by "accident".

He thinks its "safer" to drive up a rocky hill with lots of trees, than to use the more conventional road which is straight and empty...

That wreckage is dangerous ! I nailed a plane with the tank before, he'd dropped bombs as he blew up, which damaged the tank then the wreckage lay in front of me. I'm thinking, "ho ho little bitty bits of airplane gonna get squashed under tanky-poo", the final insult as it were, so I ram the wreckage and destroy my tank

Fun part is at the top base, looking down towards the airfield as 4 men go storming up the hill, only to be caught by a cartwheeling jeep that came off the hill wrong

has anybody willingly tried to land a plane on the back of the cruiser yet? thats my next challenge... right between the rear guns and the depth charges

I manged to fly under the bridge. I also landed on the back of the cruiser, resupplied with ammo and lifted off again. I was rather proud of that one.


I've tried it several times since and just end up bouncing off the deck and frantically throttling up to avoid becoming shark bait.

I've done under the bridge with 4 people on the wings so far. What I really want to do is invert a zero, get someone to parachute onto the bottom of it and go under the bridge. So if anyone's bored on BW1/2 sometime...

Dear diary, as a jap today I was on the carrier and blew an allied plane up as it was on a bomb run with a panzerfaust (or whatever) felt like a god.

Also blew up a jeep in the same round as it came towards me at about 70 mph and when i hit it, it flew about a foot over my head. nice


what a game...........

as you fly around and the island appears out of the mist, it's just awesome in my opinion.

heh, i just played my first game in about a week... went straight to the Plane (The US Plane - I was a jap) and killed 4 people with the bombs ive never killed more than 1 in game hehehe

Altho i have to admit, Controlling the Plane while your in a Dogfight is a pain in the arse, very hard to line up against the other plane, its always weaving and turning not exactly easy :/

Press f9 twice and you turn the cokcpit off leaving just a crosshair, much easier. Also if you're in a fighter, GO SLOW, the bomber can't outrun you

ohhh, i landed the plane twice sucessfully one after the other just doin that, soon as i went near the carrier i hit the other damn plane :/

Lot better control with the plane now tho, easier to see infantry and vehicles!

Hee hee. Some great moments on the FF server tonight.

The frigate sunk leaving four or five Axis and an up-turned boat in the water. They called for assistance and myself and another jumped in a boat each and headed out to pick them up. We did so and all landed at the SE base which we stormed en-masse.

Finch had been quietly laying some mines in the area, and none of us noticed. The group jumped in the troop carrier and pulled out, drove straight into a mine and exploded, killing everyone except me and the shame-faced Finch. He apologised but I slowly walked up to face him. I pulled out my dagger and nodded. I like to think there was sense of honour in his heart at that moment and an element of Japanese-style understanding and acceptance.

We shared a moment simply staring at each other. When I felt he had prepared himself for his punishment I slit his throat in one swift move and he crumpled to the floor, the balance of the universe restored.


The other was at the NE base which was the only Allied spawn at that moment. We were short on vehicles so, as you do, we tried to pile as many people as we could onto one jeep. I think we managed five on there until a Jap plane reared up from behind the hill and neatly dropped a bomb right on us, earning the pilot five kills in one hit.

We didn't learn and tried the same thing again, this time we got hit by an Axis jeep thundering into us.

I thought the games i played where a bit boring today, the Axis just got into Planes (about 3 in planes) the rest invaded the whole island, and the planes just kept droping bombs, wasnt fun at all, we didnt have a chance to breathe
